Bleep

I wrote this one after hearing the song “Murder on Music Row”. It’s my attempt at humor to describe how today’s music is compared to music from decades ago.

BLEEP

They didn’t see it coming
Nobody saw the signs
One day they all woke up to see
Good music somehow died
These days it’s hard to understand
The words to any song
It seems like all we ever hear
Are words that don’t belong
Now talent’s not required
In auto-tune they trust
And way too many times you’ll hear
A bleep where they have cussed
What happened to the good old days
When we knew all the words
The crap now on the radio
Ain’t fit for a flock of deaf birds

Take your bleep out of our music
And stick it where the sun don’t shine
You shouldn’t cuss in three-part harmony
You’re just wasting our time
So auto-tune yourself away
And twerk right out the door
Take your bleep out of our music
We don’t want to hear no more

They’ve even taken country
And turned it upside down
It ain’t how I remember it
Or how it used to sound
And rock is non-existent
They way that I recall
There’s no Zeppelin, Queen, or ZZTop
Ringo, John, George, and Paul
The times have changed our music
To something ludicrous
It ain’t worth 50cent no more
It sounds ridiculous
It makes me want Tupac my bags
But there’s no place I can go
‘Cause north, south, east, or Kanye West
It’s everywhere I go

Take your bleep out of our music
And stick it where the sun don’t shine
You shouldn’t cuss in three-part harmony
You’re just wasting our time
So auto-tune yourself away
And twerk right out the door
Take your bleep out of our music
We don’t want to hear no more

Well it used to be
That guys like me
Could always sing along
Now it all sounds fake
For goodness sakes
It’s all completely wrong

So take your bleep out of our music
And stick it where the sun don’t shine
You shouldn’t cuss in three-part harmony
You’re just wasting our time
So auto-tune yourself away
And twerk right out the door
Take your bleep out of our music
We don’t want to hear no more

Just take your bleep out of our music
We don’t want to hear no more
