Criticise

by: Harper Starlight

You said my work was rubbish, dark and depressing.
I need a wake up call as I have no talent at all.
At that point my heart took a huge battering
And I felt myself disintegrate
My confidence ebbed away instantly
I felt like I had no courage to continue with my writing.
Until you my dear friend told me I do have talent
I should continue writing because what I create is beautiful.
And it’s worth reading.

You said my work was nonsense, gloomy and disheartening.
I need a wake up call as I have no capacity for writing at all.
At that moment my heart took a huge pounding
And I felt myself collapse
My self-assurance receded away rapidly
I felt like I had no mettle to carry on with my composing.
Until you my dear friend told me I do have talent
I should continue writing because what I create is wonderful.
And it’s worth reading.

You said my work was garbage, dim and demoralising.
I need a wake up call as I have no aptitude for writing at all.
At that moment my heart took a huge bruising
And I felt myself breakdown
My composure diminished swiftly
I felt like I had no determination to carry on with my creating.
Until you my dear friend told me I do have talent
I should continue writing because what I create is enchanting.
And it’s worth reading.
