Forbidden Love

Forbidden Love

Forbidden Love
While walking down by the creek early this morn
My eye caught a glimpse of some daisies growing nearby
I picked a few as I walked by; as I smelled them I gave off a sigh
Memories of you came to my mind, my eyes swollen with tears
As I recall back so many years, the time we would spend sharing words
As we walked along the creek, way back then, you picked daisies from the ground and gave them to me; you said your love for me will always be
But that love never lasted, for your fear of this forbidden love was more than you could bear
Now back in my house I went to the attic where I hid our love letters and other treasures
In my wooden old dream box, I opened with my key
There inside were things I have tried to hide and forget
About that spring way back then when we met
The piece of wood which you carved our names with a heart
No, its best that this remains lost in my box along with all these other things that are a token of our love, oh if the town folk knew about us there would be a big fuss
My brother would kill me if he only knew that his wife and sister were lovers!
