DRAMA

OUR DAILY WISDOM WORD IS “DRAMA”.  WHY DID I PICK DRAMA FOR OUR DAILY WISDOM WORD?  DRAMA HOLDS MUCH influence and relevance in our life, chemically creating endorphins in the brain if we suffer with addiction issues..   WITH DRAMA AND CHAOS, UPHEAVAL follows.  The need for drama in our lives instead means to some of us,  “excitement”.  Excitement in our lives is a form of Euphoria which stimulates endorphins , serotonin and elevated epinephrine levels, all affecting our mood and false sense of excitement.  With drama, comes mental unhealthiness over an over an extended period of time is addictive.

Challenges come with drama.  Soon we find ourselves feeding off the immediate excitement to supply our brain with endorphins. Drama, because it is a “high”. is or can be addictive.  For those of us who have leaned on drama for the excitement we crave, we most likely don’t even realize this.  We have gotten so used to depending on drama for excitement, we don’t find normal things to be exciting simply enjoying the moment.  Drama replaces these real highs, with an immediate one very much like drugs do.  Allowing our up and down moods when having drama to replace the calm in life most healthy individuals crave isn’t healthy.  It is best if we discover drama is playing a daily role is our life to look for a more natural high.  Let’s take a look at the Webster Meaning of Drama in our Webster Dictionary that applies to this.

Webster definition of Drama-1.  An exciting, emotional or unexpected series of events or set of circumstances.

Daily Wisdom Word Definition of Drama-1.  Exciting and chaotic moments in life that have potentially negative consequences.

There are negative consequences in our lives because excitement we create ourselves by simply creating drama in our life isn’t healthy and  is addictive encouraging our brain to produce endorphins and serotonin over extended daily amounts of drama.  If we suffer with addiction issues, drama will appeal to us more.  Unless we are vigilant with our every thought, we don’t consciously realize most drama is caused by our reaction and set of circumstances we often create or attract ourselves with. Why would we  intentionally create drama?

It is a quick and easy way to experience a negative form of excitement.   I personally craved drama in my life for many years, some of it chosen by my overreaction to events transpiring in my life or others lives. If for some reason I wasn’t feeding off drama in my own life, I was attracted to others whose lives were full of it.  If my own life did not have drama going on, I found myself getting that rush indirectly through others who suffered with drama issues.

It took me many years to realize this and years to change, most of it being aware of my thought processes and redirecting friendships with others that fed off our mutual drama or my drama alone.  Some drama in one’s life is part of it.  However, mentally healthy individuals don’t feed off of drama with others and drama in our own life to feel excitement.  In fact, most healthy individuals crave life being calm and find excitement in the simple things or events in our life.  Believe me, enough drama comes our way we aren’t responsible for and we don’t need to create it for a sense of euphoria or excitement.  This can be found by enjoying moments in time that are exciting in our natural progression of our life that are not self created, or living vicariously through others drama.  Thanks so much for reading about drama and the negative consequences in our life when we depend on it for our “high”.

Last minute thoughts or suggestions are the following:  1.  When we find ourselves experiencing a high from upheaval and chaos in our life, we probably have an issue with drama.  2.  After this is realized, we need to find positive ways to live harmoniously knowing it can lead to deeper issues.  3.  Drama is self-created when we are addicted to it as our high.  4. If we suffer with other addictions we are five times more likely to find ourselves high from drama in our own life or others around us.”  5.  We all will experience enough drama naturally in our lifetime without creating more.  6. If we are attracted to drama, or those individuals who live in it, we probably suffer from another addiction to false highs like drama.
