What does Valiance mean and why is it important in our world?
According to our Webster dictionary Valiance means this-Having or showing valor; brave; heroic
Daily Wisdom Word Meaning-being a person who is bold, audacious, and brave.
Valiance is becoming rare in a world like today’s. It is actually a word that isn’t often used because most people including myself, minus the bold part, are not valiant. Valiant people are those people who are willing to stop, not because it is in their job description, but because they truly are valiant people and get someone out of a burning car with a baby in the back seat.
A valiant person does not let anything stand in the way between being successful with their mission. They are winners, through and through and have the bravery behind being a winner to step into a situation needing help and do whatever it takes to get the job done. They are Dauntless and true heroes in this world.
The reason why we don’t hear the word valiance often anymore is because it is a rare characteristic for someone to have. Valiant People will take jobs like a firefighter, a police officer, or an EMT. What these jobs all have in common is the people doing them are taking risks for others lives and their welfare. The difference between being a person of valiance is ones who do this on the spur of the moment. They are the ones who are NOT trained in a career how to deal with tragedy.
Valiant Individuals are the heroes history is made of and to be a Valiant individual is to be a rare one. Valiant also means to be bold. You don’t have to rescue someone from a burning car to be valiant but you must be brave and you must be bold.
There are Valiants to be found in elementary schools, middle schools, high schools and college. These are the individuals that will stand up for what is right. They see someone getting bullied and they walk over and get into the offenders comfort zone and let them know that the person they are making fun of happens to be a friend of theirs and they let the person who is the offender know what will happen if he continues to disrespect this individual.
Valiance can be found in our soldiers going off to war, not because they were drafted but from a heart-felt need to want to help our country retain its freedom and constitutional rights. Valiance is a rare quality indeed and in a world that is scarce of valiance, it would be nice if we could see more of it.
