    • A Fire Upon Your Deep

      Dragon’s fire licks astonishment
      as your wave overwhelms
      it claws like emotional turbulence
      staggering onto my wilder shores.

      Your ardent tide’s flood pleads
will you stay in my crazy
      embrace what you cannot see
      swim in my mind’s light.

      We ocean our water together
      chasing storms’ delight
      even as nightfall unmasks us
      there’s fire upon your deep.

    • Wow. Every line runs into another making the poem not only readable but relatable. I see what you word. Thanks for sharing this with us and welcome to Daily Wisdom Words.

    • ❤What You Hold❤

The heart can hold, a many of things,
A soulmate, a love, family or friends.
      Laughter, joy, sadness and pain,
Sometimes it makes your mind go insane.

Don’t follow your heart, always go with your mind
Should your heart be hit with a blow from behind.
The heart can take so much pain, that is true.
The mind can make you happy by forgetting the pain in you.

Don’t forget the happy times or the loves you hold dear
The mind and heart go with you everywhere.
Try to do without pain, it can out do the heart,
Though some is expected right from the start.

Just keep your mind clear, though the heart may ache,
Remember the mind is always the first choice to make.
The mind wants to be happy, the heart can make you cry,
Just remember to be happy, no matter how hard you try.

    • Red flag life is a drag
      They have eyes wide open
      They are blind to see
      They know what’s happening
But treat a lie like the truth
It’s like a political cult, a mob of zombies
      On the rob
They don’t care about heartbreak as we sob

    • Little red flag
      I see you there
      heard the tone
      it’s pretty clear
they don’t care the way you
do baby girl you’re about to be used
it’s ok if you know the drill
      use them too
      to get your fill
      But,
      if you’re unsure
      run for the hills
      cause the grief and pain
ain’t worth the thrill – Amberdawn aka Curvy Red Gurl

    • Barely moving

      all these promises weeps
      visible in salt spray air
      smiles bewitching
      dawn sighting
      fairest of them all
      befallen tears

      love denotes
      the cries of seagulls
      rushing through

      full of pathos
      chilling me to shreds

    • Comfortable Melancholy

      Time sips melancholic comfortable
      reigning for absent glints
      windows left yearning
      yesterday’s real has fled.

      Seems like you knew
      seductive dark begged us
      glistening allures
      as you took mine.

      Careless fables used me
      saying what I wanted
      we loved to play them
      editing out our fears.

    • Mishmash Brain

Frozen in time, nowhere to go

Voices in my brain, telling what they know.

Creepy little words rumble my brain

Trying to make matter, a reason or explain.

Definitions scramble up, a mix match of words

Scatters the brain like fly away birds.

      A struggle, a defeat

      An everyday pain

      The secret surroundings

      Of a Mishmash Brain.

Give me a pill to drown out the voices

Or give me a list of some other choices.

Closing in, it’s about to explode

      Disappointments quietly unfold.

Repeating the cycle of an unopened door

Accepting the challenge, wanting no more.

      A victory, a smile

      A courage of propane

      Exploding through the words

      Of a Mishmash Brain.

Winning the war of words unsaid

Waking the silence of the undead.

      Mishmash Brain settle on down

I’ve got the control this time around.

Freedom I have, a whole world to explore

Voices in my brain, settling the score.

      Sinking from rapt health
      she can’t breathe
      can you hold on tight

      to walk inside our minds

    • I was never a crier, unless I was so mad tears came out as I exploded.
I always bottled everything up until it became to much and one little thing set me off.

I find myself crying over little things now that I’m older. People I don’t know who have similarities.
A movie or news. I don’t think I necessarily cry for myself but for the fact I understand what people are going through and the out comes in most cases.

    • 🇺🇸 American Dream 🇺🇸

      Struggling to make ends meet

      Happens on every street

      Barely enough to get by

Unpaid bills and funds run dry

American Dream, where did it go?

Was it a lie, for the world to know?

Stress piles high, demand is too much

The American Dream I just can’t touch.

Rent is due, kids need clothes

Shopping for bargains is how it goes.

American Dream, Is what I was told

But rarely do I see it actually unfold.

      Homeless and Mental Health

      Security from the Commonwealth

      Jobless rate and disability

      A loss beyond our ability.

I look out the window of the American Dream

Thinking it was a lie or so it does seem

American Dream, where are you now?

Were you a lie we all believed in some how?

I’ll close my eyes and dream of my home

An American myth, I ponder alone.

    • An Annoying Story

      Listen here, as I tell
The story about the annoying seagull

      They fly around every beach
Always so close, but out of reach

Quickly they dive and steal your food
Always puts a damper in my mood.

They line in rows along the shore
A common trend they have done before.

Their feathers fall upon the sand
      Mesmerized into a child’s hand.

We chase them away to get to the water
But in their eyes, we are the squatter.

It is their home, down by the sea
Invaded by the rights of society.

A day at the beach, will always tell
An annoying story about a seagull

      Walking the streets
      Through roads so narrow
      Looking for a love
Like a Blue Jay and a Sparrow.

How do I find or put into words
A love complete, like a swarm of birds?

Resting on a wing, so much to discuss
The flight is pure, with a layer of trust.

      Blue bird, black bird
      Where you be?
      Which one is you?
      And which one is me?

      Nesting down, a love anew
      Serenity sounds of morning dew.

On the wire, of flying herds
A love complete, like a swarm of birds.

      Walking the streets

I’m not equipped for all this technology
I’d rather read and write like I used too
      Keeping my mind
      My motor skills sharp
      A person to pare
      A person to share
      Would be…

    • A case for you
      The missing prompt from view
We all poets so we should show it
      You know it
To hide away to throw away
      Poetry we can’t share it
      If it’s not on Twitter
      Don’t be bitter better
It is we the writer who is the fighter

    • Singing Our Colors

It was like you always knew
      days would lose us
      I’d read your words again
      as they ran away

We painted songs light & dark
      drawn to our own
      pouring in our souls
colors no one else can see

      I met a lonely woman
      her eyes shared my smile
      we’d laugh like no others
      writing our road home

    • Entirely pleasing
      the past marvelled
      remembering snowflakes
      your name
      surge of warmth
      discovering quirks
      untowards welcomes
      fortnight ‘neath
      a wintry moon
      slanting lights
      a cool hush of dusk
      in earnest cherished
      lovingly swooning
      aglow over a
      smokey red horizon.

    • Blessed is what I am
      To have made it through
      Full of gratitude
      Glory be to God
      And only him
Because I would not be anything
      Without my king.
There is nothing money can buy
His precious blood has covered my heart and my opened my eye’s.

      • Hmmmm…this is lovely. I am glad you were able to participate. Thanks for sharing this. One question, what inspired this?

        • I honestly don’t know. It just came out.

          • I understand. It happens to me too. But, most times I try to get to the source. You see, for every poem there’s an emotion backup. A memory, idea or a tiny subconsciously strand of feeling that may be invisible.
I don’t know if you understand me. Don’t know if I understand me☺️

            • I don’t plan any of my writes. I think of a word and everything falls out of my mind. For music prompts, it’s all about the vibe. For BLM, I thought about Billie Holiday’s song, ‘Strange Fruit’. For other things, it’s my emotional response. For my typical run-of-the-mill, melancholic writes, those come from deeper inside because of my personality (INFJ).

            • I suppose it’s truly how I feel. I’m greatful to God for the blessings I have as far as life goes. You can not put a price on time and memories. Most people view life in material things where I view life in time.

    • Like Cinderella I waited
      for love’s true touch-
It never came. So, I made
      diamonds my words on that
      so lonely tranquil tower.
Ariel so kind aired it all
      to ears whose taste for
      more located me.
      They begged to save me
when I had already saved me,
I made peace with the loud
      bangs of silence and desire
      for a lover-
      waiting to be saved
had become the prison I knew not.
      With a bride’s pride I came down
and all I could see was a a
huge cloud of dust behind me
      saying: wait for me!

    • A Deeper Love

      Mountain cloudscapes sky us
      inviting empyreal visions
      rising around desert heat
      they catch our breath.

      Beyond my space
      you share a deeper love
      I’m bound to our play
      waiting till I learn why.

      So I climb day’s light
      struck by your vision
      clouds melt into stars
      as we fall into night.

    • I wrote this at 15, no title.

      There’s no making up ;
      When I’m already fucked up!
      You…
Want to try now; that’s it’s too late
Seeing, I’ve so much built pain and hate.
      Try and try
Yet , you try the wrong way
      You see:
These foolish games I can no longer play
I’m trying to pick the pieces up one by one
      But after all I’ve accomplished
Why am I still holding this piece of shit gun?

    • I see the need for affirmation here. It rings greatly. Thanks for sharing this.

    • Emotional and abuse
      What’s the use
      Knowing the anger and pain
      The sadness hidden
See what they do year in year out
Hit us with clout what’s it all about
Rob us, how do we survive
All they’re concerned about the economy drive

    • ♡ Tender Hearts ♡
You tell me you still love me,
                   You miss me very much.
How often you long to hold me,
Feel my kiss and my touch.

      You say you weren’t happy,
During the time we spent apart.
You want to be together again,
And make a fresh new start.

My head is telling me not to,
You will hurt me once again.
My heart is saying I need you,
Just name the time and when.

I know I’ll come back to you,
I need to have you near.
I’m placing my heart into your hands,
Please handle it with tender care.

    • Thunderstorms

      Touching a dark place
      no one sees my harm
      it’s so cold deep inside
      even sunlight withers away.

      And when abuse begins
      thoughts abandon reason
      deserted I’m all alone
      an emotional thunderstorm.

      Sunlit rainbows seek me
      even when you hello
you’re all I wait for now
      lighting up my mind.

    • It’s all in my head
      It’s all in my heart
      It’s all on my lips
But the voice isn’t there to echo it.

I know it’s hard expressing me
But I keep silent for therein lies the solace
      of others.
