What does revival mean and how does it apply in our lives?

Let us first take a look at the Webster Dictionary Meaning for Revival:  1.  an improvement in the condition or strength in something.  2.  an instance of something becoming popular, active or important again.  3.  a new production of an old play or similar work.  4.  a reawakening of religious fervor, especially by means of a series of evangelistic meetings.  5.  a restoration to bodily or mental vigor to life or consciousness, or to sporting success

Daily Wisdom Word Meaning:  Revival  1.  A new awakening of a clear view point that you did not have clarity with before.

The definition of revival I will focus on is the improvement in the condition or strength of something.  This is usually something you have changed your thinking on, and are looking at from a different perspective, giving you strength and improvement in your thinking with.  A revival in an awakening in that thinking.  A revival is a different perspective because different facts have come to light to make you see something in a way that allows you to let go of it from the old perspective and look at it from the new one.

A revival can almost be compared to shedding old skin and the new skin underneath it coming out.  It can also be compared to someone who can’t see something clearly, finally getting glasses and being able to look at it from the new perspective giving them strength and hope.  A revival is very important as sometimes it also means an old way of thinking making more sense in your life again, and implementing this into a new set of circumstances.  For instance,  the last time I went through a break up with someone I truly loved, I had a revival.  In order to gain strength and improve my condition, I had to go back to the way I thought of things when I was single before having met this person.  This, for me, was my revival.  My way of gaining strength and improving my condition mentally when thinking about the situation.

What instances in your life have you had your own personal revival or awakening?  A situation for you where old things that had become unimportant in your life have become important again?  We have all had revivals at one time or another, but may not have realized that is what we were having.

A revival  also means a restoration to bodily or mental vigor to life or consciousness.  Sometimes, this means letting go of an old way of thinking and bringing into perspective, a new way of thinking to make us stronger.  Revivals are good things because they let us let go of old ways of thinking that are no longer working for us.
