An Old Man’s Birthday Ramblings

An Old Man’s Birthday Ramblings

An Old man’s Birthday Ramblings
It’s been Seventy –five years
Since my first breath
Of the sweetness of the air
Of the life that would take me to the deepest lows and to greater heights
There were times in my life that I hated that was I born
Then there were times my world was bright and I soared high into the sky
There were times I had no food, and I knew hunger
I drink water and chewed tree bark- so I know what poverty really is
I grew up with a rainbow of people I still for the life of me cannot understand why some people hate a person just because of the color of their skin or for the poverty their in
At twenty I know it all
At seventy-five I know I have just begun to learn
Life leaves many scars
But life has many blessing- sometimes we just don’t see them right away but they are there you just have to look for them
Once I thought seventy –five was very old
Now I think of it as very young
You see it’s all in one’s perception.
I have known war and hate
But the best of life was the love I got- my wife, my daughters, my brother and his wife and all my family and friends
For they make up for all the pain I have known all hurt that left wounds deep within
We all have our baggage to carry me PTS from a lousy war
Emotional eating disorder from food insecurity
The struggle with who I real am
I live most my life doing what other asked of me
Now I do what is best for me
Balance is the key
I don’t worry about dying- I know that will come
What worry me is a world that seem so upside down
My wish upon this my seventy-fifth birthday, God know I need no material things and I know I have lots of love
My wish is for everyone who reads this old man rambling
To be bless with happiness and good health
You see one thing I have learn in life it’s better to give than receive.
Also listen to doctors not Donald, but that’s another story!
