Another year of sobriety
Twelve years clean
Falling off the wagon
Seemed bound to happen after losing what’s meant to be.
I took a fall
Crashing hard
Stitching my scars healing my wounds
Broken and bruised
I lifted myself
Stumbled and crawled
As strength improved
Twelve years clean
Remembering
The battles we face from day to day
Others face in different ways.
Sobriety does not mean you are forever free.
A addict will forever be.
Temptation is all around
Learning how to turn it down is key
Habit Trading comes in
Many forms
Few will learn, while others mourn.
