Now that the family has explored the stately home, and its lush, verdant garden, the gift shop beckons.
So it’s down the stairs, down from where the ground floor is, to what was once a large cellar.
In its day, the cellar held barrels of wine, gin and other such liquids, and now they stand empty.
The family stands there, in the gift shop, surrounded by historical souvenirs and toys to amuse modern people.
They browse round the shop, observing that there are some lovely and novel things for sale.
Once they’ve all decided on what to purchase, they go back up the stairs, passing those who have yet to discover the treasures of the stately home gift shop.
