The Rise of Women

The Rise of Women

When she looks upon the sky, a little girl sees new worlds
With her wondrous little eyes
She sees a dream of things to come
People tell her to not think big for she just a little girl
She needs to learn her role and that role is to be submissive to her husband needs
She should think in terms of being a mother and a wife, not a life of her own
But in her mind, none of those things matter, for the girl will grow into a woman and be the master of her fate
As her mind soar to the planets, and the stars, and to a world where she can be equal to any man
She won’t be bound to the role of man’s making. For she will make her own rules, as she chooses roads that she will take
The future she is planning, of equal rights where all little girls and boys can reach for their own balloons
Demands of pay the same as man, and every right the same as that of man
For each balloon she holds lifts her to new heights
No, she won’t be held down by those who are tied to the past, lock into a world of stuck in a box
Upon the rooftops with balloons in hand, this little girl will rise into the stars, who can say how far she will go!
