    Turn the radio on,
    & the television loud,
    a barricade of sound
    to obscure my hopes,
    to forget the dreams
    of you, just you.
    I can’t know what
    to do with love,
    & the promise of you.
    when I can only fear
    the loss that could come,
    but, still, I love you.
