  1. Lovebirds

    Old, his eyes failing,
    world in blurry yellows,
    Sylvie long passed,
    but he still loved
    the art museum.
    Slowly with cane,
    he navigated between
    islands of benches
    finding a seat,
    breathing heavily.
    The bird picture
    seemed new,
    and his blurred vision
    imagined them live.
    Just memory?
    Ah, a sweet story
    chirping to him
    from the frame.
    Remember the birds, love?
    I gave them to you.
    Blue lovebirds.
    They made such
    a racket, Sylvie dear.
    He put his head
    on her shoulder,
    and she held his hand.
    Shh, my love.
    Just sleep.

  2. A picture perfect human race
Birds of a different feather flocking together.
Poetry for my eyes when people don’t dispise
Those birds of a different feather.
