She wears a mask
all about the changes
melancholy and all that
… she’s gone through
who she is, she knows not
hidden feelings sometimes shown
learned to lie from what others
…had put her through
funny how we all want to…believe it
why can’t wey see
her language and how she’s bleeding
a thousand different deaths

A mask for the outside world
A mask for my companions
One mirage for an intimate crowd
Another mirage for the battalion
Change in expressions profusely robotic
Costumes & illusions, the only thing static
Silence masking fits of fury
Awkward laughs in moments so teary
I wonder when I’ll see something akin
To what truly lies beyond my skin
There’s a sad young lady
Living behind that plastic smiley face,
I’m popular, but all alone in my cocoon,
I hope somebody sees the real me real soon
Behind this stifling mask,
Before sadness makes me crack
And loneliness makes me swoon.
Save me. Save me someone—please, from my impending doom,-please,,I need a change real soon.😢
