Waterfalls of tears have been circling jubilantly like a whirlpool
And drowning my soul for centuries
Perhaps it’ll be more advantageous now
If I forage the knowledge to swim,
Rather than keep pursuing lifeboats
In an eternal quest of futility!
They were all young that day he remembered
Playing baseball at the lake the girls watching
He chuckled at the thought of how badly he
Wanted to impress the GIRL who layed there
On the checkered blanket fruits wine & cheese
Neatly placed on paper plates & plastic cups
In front of her as he with false bravado pointed
To the sky like the babe & then struck the ball
Sweetly & as he started to run towards first
Base his eyes still fixed on the ball he saw it
Hit the water with a mighty splash forming
Circles his arms raised triumphantly giving
High fives to his friends & her waiting for him
At the plate arms wide open HER his wife
His reason for everything he accomplished
O how time flies he thought that day as
He looked at her tiny frame laying in
That little satin lined coffin
