  1. Vertigo
    Head spinning like a top
Trying, trying to make it stop

Spaceman, on his way to Mars
He wonders, did I feed my cat Mr Jars?
Leaving this planet, his planet, never to return
For a new life amongst the stars, so much to learn

His mind spinning, his emotions tumble
It was life as we know it Jim, be it ever so humble
But the universe beckons, his for the taking
Goodbye and adure from his spacecraft shaking

  2. She sat across the table,
    elegant meal, red wine,
    a young man, entranced
    flushed, stumbling for words.
    Covertly she looked past him,
out the window at the night.
Planets & stars, bright on black.
    Perhaps Mars, she thought.

  3. Surreal terrain below,
    Lost touch with ground control,
Soon to meet his fate on,
The only planet he’d ever known,
    Falling to his death,
    The freakiest show occurred,
As the vortex sucked in hard,
In his head the vision of a blue-eyed Ziggy Stardust singing,
    “Is there life on Mars?”

*One for the Bowie fans 🙂
