Tears and I (pic poetry)

by: Laurel A. Porter

I remember my eyes
Long ago,
looked this way
Make-up, mascara
These days I don’t bother
Not so much
That I don’t want to
But I can’t
Now, a never ending
Stream of tears
Washes it all off anyway
I try to block things out
Talk things out
I get nowhere
The Universe is acutely
Against me
How can I fight against that?
I gave up years ago
