Beware of a Wishing Stone

by: Guildford Windley

Beware of a wishing stone
_________________________________
It was just back in June
Sun was shining down
Hot as hell it was
We have been in this drought
For some time
Little rain was we got
The winter was dry and hot
So little snow had dropped
The lakes, the streams creeks, and rivers
Were low or they were dry
We all cried in the heat of night for relief
One day in this madness
I found a stone
A gem of blue
Cool to the touch was it
I held it to my hot wet cheeks
And then took it to my lips
I said oh dear lord
Please hear my plead
This drought
Has done us out
Please I wish for lots of rain
Fill up the sky
And bring cool relief
Let rain, let it snow
Thousand times or more
Well I put that stone in a special place
And said no more
Though the summer ran so long
And fall was and hot
Come the winter
Not so much as a drop
Then as the year turn
To the next
I had forgotten of the stone and my wish
But I soon remember
Cause
January, February and let’s not forget March
For the rain and snow, it did come
And we thought we had enough
It still came and came a lot
The sky above turned into
A river of air
It drops tons of rain and snow everywhere
It kept coming
Night and day
Rain upon rain
So much snow in the mountains
So much rain
The rivers started flooding
I had had it
With the rain
I stone and held it high
Dear god
Make it stop
I know I wish upon this stone
To let it rain a thousand time or more
You did not need to take me so literally
My word was of a poet soul
I’m not a meteorologist
Please cancel this wish upon a stone
There is no drought anymore
Please oh lord
Can we see a clear sky?
Oh just let it be dry
No more wishing on a stone
Just let us have some damn Sun!

A Judgement is a Coming

by: Guildford Windley

A Judgement is a Coming
__________________________________
Gloomy days all of gray
Clouds dark full of rain
As they sail east in different forms
In the mountains high in the sky
Where the air is chilled
By Nordic winds
Snow will fall from those clouds
The winter white that covers the land
We huddled in the cold
Waiting for the spring thaw
New life will show its face
A promise of a new day
Flowers return as the
Gloomy days of gray fad
To the bright warmth of the sun
Soon we will see the colors that nature makes
As we rise from our winter slumbers
The frozen lakes and rivers
Will be anew waiting for the summer fun
Lives Restored
As creatures big and small
Leave their winter homes
A new beginning
A new day
A time to make the world anew
Time for a change
We need new always
Or the world we all know will be no more
The old gives way to the young
For if not the fate of man
Will come to an end
Things we have done in the past
Lead to destructive ways
The actions on our climate
In the name of progress
Wealth for a few
We pay the price
As the earth
Takes each hit of man’s destruction
Our world is a changing
The weather
Will turn on us
As we turn to dust
The end of humankind
The epitaph will read
Blind by greed
Mankind
Did commit
A
Crime
The species that were
No longer will they live
Mankind’s legacy
Has been written
A Judgement is a coming
God gave man
A garden
We return God love
By destroying all that’s good!
In the end the destructions
Will be man!

The Game We Play

by: Guildford Windley

The Game We Play
___________________________________
It’s in the wind the sounds I hear
The cries of people everywhere
For Justice and freedom
We work and toil
For so little
As the man takes and takes
More from your soul
As well as your wallet
In the hot sun
Or in the rain
Work you do
For the man
He lives on high
Why you struggle so
Fine wines and caviar
For him
The scraps of junk food are what you get
A vicious cycle do we dance
For if we don’t
There’s no dough
The fear is the driving factor
Hold you down
For your dreams don’t matter
In a world
Where the cards are stacked
Rich man sets the rules
For the maze in which you run
No justice
No freedom
Is for you
For the game, you play
The rich man always wins
My friend
You
Will
Always
Lose!

A River That is Wide

by: Guildford Windley

A River That Is Wide
_________________________________________________
On a river that is wide
Do we find a place to hide in the twist and turns as the river runs it way
Down the valley do we sail
On a boat that leaks
While people wail and cry
No there is no freedom
On a river that is wide
People on each bank see the other side
But no middle ground
Does the boatman find when he hears, the crying of the crowds
Above looking down at him
Those who know the truth
Will not say
For the boatman must find his own way
Down the twisted river
To a place of deliverance
For only then will the truth be
Upon them
Then freedom name
Will rise once more
To the folks on the rocky shores above the riverbanks
A bridge can close that big divide
And all can find peace of mind
When the boatman’s
Boat
Reaches the ocean’s door
He brings
Understanding and empathy
Acceptance
In his cargo hold
At safe water port
Where the bridge will be
So here we finally find that tranquility that frees the mind, of the hate inside of thee

Reflections of Rejections

by: Guildford Windley

Reflections of Rejections
_____________________________
Reflections of the rejections
Social needs, Oh we can’t pay for this
Reflections of the necessities
Security and war these are a must
Politicians speak words that are meant to deceive
They’ll say one thing one day
Then deny that very thing, the very next day
Reflections of those in power
The ones we did not elect
Where the money is
Oh policy is fed
In troughs full of cash
Do politicians feed and fill the greed
The desires of those in power
Lay forth the policy of the govern
From troughs that politicians feed on
No
We can’t afford a medical plan for all
Not because we don’t have the money
But because the rich and powerful will lose their cut
Medicine and medical needs are not a must
It’s not them that suffer or die
Its people who have no say
Those who stand on high
Say
We can’t afford
Educations
Housing the homeless
A clean environment
Safe Food and water, those things we can’t afford
But yes
Billionaires say they still need more
They want no taxes on themselves
Or
Their corporations
Soak the poor
For what good are they
They serve only to help drive
The capitalist way
To serve wealth and feed their needs
When the poor no longer can serve this order
They no longer can fight in a war for others to profit
They no longer can work and toil
For low wages
Then the need to have them stops
Let the poor die in misery
For
The rich will not
Let the poor be deceive
Uses patriotism
Hate of those, not like them
The rhetoric of the politician’s tongue
On promises, no one ever keeps
Yes to old Glory we are told
While offshore the rich man’s accounts grow
You sacrifice and do your best
But in the end
You will not win
For the cards are stack by the man
Democracy
We do not have
For the Constitution
Give us a Republic
For a Republic is a representative form of governess
And
For democracy to exist within this type of body
Those who represent must not be tainted
By or influence
From
Party or the powerful
For they should represent the masses
Today
Money rules
The legislation that is passed
Yes
We can’t afford to change our ways
For
To the rich, they like the way the things are run today
To them
For the government that we have
The rich and powerful
Profit more!

A Wish for the Day

by: Guildford Windley

A wish for the day
___________________________________________
Kiss the winter day’s goodbye
Let the warmth of the Sun come in
Gentle become the winds
Not the blow of cold air upon the skin
May the days get longer and the nights warmer
Oh the joy of a day without snow or rain
Yes, I know we need them so
But not again until the calendar has turned so many pages, do the snow and rain need to come
First, let me bask in the warmth of the Sun
Let there be just enough breeze to cool my face
Oh spring bring out your flowers
Oh summer bring out those lazy days
Put that snow shovel in an out of the way corner
Let it rest there for another day
Bags of sand that blocked overflowing water
Now empty in the sandbox so the kids have a place to play
Oh yes there is a place for winter
But I wish not to be there, for several months to come
For now, I wish to see
A time of fun within the Sun
To go out in shorts
To take long walks
On beaches and forest trails
With the hot sun beating down
Those days when you can’t move
For the heat is oppressive
Sweat pouring down
No wind to cool you down
Yeah, now I remember summer
The hell with this
Yes, let the cool fall breezes come in!

The Road You Take

The Road You Take
_________________________________
The road, you take has many turns
You’ll come to a fork in the road
Which way to go
The road to the left, the road to the right
No one can really tell you which way to go
They may try
But the choice is really yours
One of many roads you’ll take in life
Not all will be safe
Some will go up
Some will go down
You will not know the right way to go
But in your heart
There beats a desire
That is driven by the spirit within
Follow your heart
For it knows the way
It may not always be easy
But Life was never meant to be safe
The rewards you seek you may never find
Accept in your mind
You’ll find the satisfaction
Of at least knowing that you tried
Success is not the adulation of others
It’s is
Satisfying the fire that burns within
The Fire that drives you each and every day
On the road
Only you can take

Song of the Con Man
_________________________
Manufacture the lie
Turn the truth into a lie
Make wrong right before their eyes
Confused all with your song
Tell them those who disagree
Are your enemy
Keep the lie alive
Say it over and over
Every time twist it even more
The gullible will buy your lie
Tell them that they’re special
What you do is for them
They won’t care once mesmerized
They have bought your lies
Build your base
With Hate
Give them power
To bully others
All the while
Keep a smile
As you
Pick their pockets

A Rainy Morning

by: Guildford Windley

A Rainy morning
_____________________________
The rain a taping on the window pane
The trees swishing in the breeze
The burst of the wind
Gives you pause
As
Thunder cracks the air
While the skies fill with light
The air is of chill
As we rise from the long night
Hot coffee, a brewing on the stove
Breakfast a cooking
The smells of the cooking
lets one’s tummy know its time to chow down
As the rain keeps coming down
In the warm room, we be
Out of the rain are we
Sitting by the window
In the warmth of the room
Are we
A day, free of care
No work can be done
Sitting in our jammies
As the rain comes down
A patterning of drops makes a sound as they splat on the glass
All foggy is the window due to the heat
Getting hard to see traffic on the street
A sip of hot coffee
As I sit in my old comfy chair
A day free of care
As the rain taps my window pane
And the trees whisper
A song to my ears
Life goes on as people run by
Sloshing through a river
Where a sidewalk once was
I pity the poor souls
As they trudge on their way
The look on their face
A sadness I would say
The coldness and wetness
That they must feel
As the rain falls
No place to hide or stay dry
Alas, with concern on my face
I turn back to my book
Some reading I now have time do
I change the page
Of this interesting book
That I’m reading
Suddenly feeling empathy
For all the poor souls that I’ve seen
I turn and put another log on
The fire!

A New Bright Day

by: Guildford Windley

A New Bright Day
______________________________________
In the morning light, I see a new bright day
In the eyes of a curious child, I see a new bright day
When I see two young lovers kiss in the moonlight, I see a new bright day
The birth of a newborn, for the first time in their mother’s arms
When I hear of bravery, valor or just simply giving a hand
I see a new bright day
In the eyes of a kitten or a little pup
Birds dancing in the air
The trees of the forest
For their shade and their air
A field of wildflowers with a sweet scent in the air
Mountains with snow caps in the clouds
The beaches, bless with the sea and touch by the Sun
The bounty of food
Big cities, little towns
Villages and hamlets bound by the sea
By rivers where they flow
Lakes high in the hills
In all of these things, a new will come
A day when all people will sing
No matter their color
No matter their age
No matter their gender
Or where they come from
We all need each other
We are linked together
Like we need the water
Like we need the air
All creatures big or small
Together
We live on this little ball
In a universe
So big
We
Are so lost
In the dust
Of
Milky Way
A Galaxy
That’s really insignificant
Our lives, our emotions
To us, so important
But in time and in space
Our thoughts
Are mere blink of an eye
So smile my friend
Look around, see
The new bright day

Follow Your Rainbow

by: Guildford Windley

Follow your rainbow
____________________
Look to the rainbow
When the storm has passed
Watch the sunrise
After the long cold night
The smell of the fresh scent after the rain
Look inside of you, not as others
Your brilliance is within you
Don’t be afraid to find your way
For the courage you have
It has been with you all the way
Don’t look self-doubt
Don’t be swayed by others
Be yourself not a copy of others
For the beauty is there, it’s in you
You are the rainbow of many colors
You are the first light of a new morning
The journey you take requires a first step
So follow your rainbow and you’ll find what you’re looking for

What is Love?

by: Guildford Windley

What is Love?
________________________________
First person:
I found you at last
My heart was empty
My soul incomplete
You brought to me the love I sorely needed
In you, I have found peace and happiness!
Second person:
My love for you is unlimited
You have filled my heart with joy
You are the inspiration that gives me courage that keeps me going on
Together our love soars high above the stars!
This is love, my friends:
It does not matter who the first person is
It does not who the second person is
It could be a Man and a Woman
It could be two Women
It could be two Men
It could be people caught in the wrong body
It doesn’t matter
The colors of the body
Cultures
Physical handicaps
Or even political differences
Love is love
The only thing that counts is
Two souls lost in the universe
Find each other
Become as one, while respecting their individuality
And
From all this
They learn to embrace this love they have
And
Each new adventure that they share
For this is life
A
Dance
Of romance
To last until the dawn of never
To Dance across the Universe
A
Waltz
To
Last
Through
Eternity!

What Happen To US

by: Guildford Windley

What Happen To Us
_________________________________
Where oh where did we go
How did we change so
There was time
We reach for the stars
There was a time
Fought for a cause
Where oh where did we go
There were times we stood for justice
Yes we had our dark side
Genocides and slavery
But I thought
We had grown
It is hard to see the truth
We are feed so much crap
America the land of the just
Is a lie
Power and greed rule
As rich people drink
Of the sweat
Of people who labor
Yet they don’t get far
Our children grow up and are sent off to war
We profit, not
But the rich do
Industrial machine fabricate wars
Wealth in far off lands there to be taken
In return, we leave the lands destroyed
With people whose lives are in ruin
Refugees in search of a future
Now day
America
Home of the brave
Its golden beauty
Tarnish by hate
Walls are required, so they say
To keep the brown people away
Meanwhile
In prison camps children torn from the families
Never to see them again
A deterrent they say
As border thugs of homeland
Torture and rape
Uncaring corrupt
Washington power
Only serve the needs
That feeds the money that they so desire
Where did we go?
From hero to coward
We were looked up to as a nation, now we are just a joke, but no one’s laughing
They the power keeps blinders on us
With distractions and hate
While all around us people are dying
Random shooters and killers
Cops killing black who have done nothing at all
We put people in jail to fill bed that we paid for to keep rich people who ran the jail profitable
It matters not if they innocent or guilty; for black people, its price that they pay to keep a system of corruption going
America the beautiful so I been told, but we have lost our soul

Tears from My Eyes

by: Guildford Windley

Tears from My Eyes
_________________________________
Tears from my eyes
Flow down my cheek
The pain runs so deep
My hurt is real since I feel
I look into the mirror
I’m no longer there
Who is this person that I see
Why am I so different?
The color of my skin, the true gender within
You just don’t fit in
For they see things the way they want
To control what you are, to keep you at bay
To hold down someone different than them
To keep what privileges, and wealth that they have achieved
If your color is not white, if your gender is not male
You don’t count; you’re here to serve their purpose
Religion, government, and business
Keep you down, for their purpose
To the rich and powerful, your mere pawns
If your gay or transgender or a lesbian
If you’re of a color other than white
To them with all the power, you do not matter
The hate that they create, is used on the masses
My heart and souls aches, for I see in the mirror
The souls of all my brothers and sisters
I’m one with the people of all colors
I’m one with my sisters
I’m one with my brothers
I’m one with all Gay, Lesbians and my sister and Brothers Transgenders
Freedom will come when the people see
That all souls were meant to be free
My tears will be gone and a smile on my face
When I look into the mirror and see that we are all one
A world where we can be who we were meant to be
Free of fear and hate
Where the truth can be heard
That truth is: that love and understanding bring people together and the world is better
That hate will divisiveness will only destroy all of us

The Wild Red Rose

by: Guildford Windley

The Wild Red Rose
______________________________
I was six; he was seven when we met back in forty-eight
It was at the playground at our school
My friends and I were sitting on a bench in our pretty new school dresses
We would watch as the boys played
Back then it was that way
As I sat there on that day, he walked over my way
His bright eyes of blue had a twinkle in them
He smiles and looks just at me
Then he handed me a wild red rose he had a pick from the nearby creek
From that day on we were friends, he always would greet me at my door with a wild red rose, and then we talked as we walked to school
As we grew there came a time to date, our first was just one of many, and were really great
He would bring one wild red rose for me each and every day
He told me that where he got the roses was a special enchanted place
A place where only the purest red roses can grow, they are wild and free
Then he said to me when I look into your eyes I see the same enchanted place in thee
As the years went by we took different paths, but we were still friends
I would date other men, and he dated other ladies
But whenever we meet, a wild red rose he would bring
It was after college when I return to the home of my youth
I called him to say hi and told him I was nearby
He said great, how about a date, oh yes said I
When I open the door that night, there, he was, he was dressed so nice, in his suit and of course there was that twinkle in his bright blue eyes and wild red rose by his side
When went to dinner, as I remember it was a wonderful night.
As we left the restaurant and walked down the street
He said the night is so nice and clear it’s not too dark, may we go down to the trail that leads to the park
We stroll through the park to where the creek comes through
He said I want to share a secret with you, this is the magical place where I go
There, in a place near some old willow trees, just a short distance from the water edge were prettiest red roses I have ever seen
He then picked another one for me, but this time it came with a ring, and he got down on his knee
Well it was six months later that the wedding came
It was magical, all our family and friends were there
There were dozens upon dozens of flowers, but none was so special, like that one, he gave to me when we said our vows. A single wild red rose, to seal our love
That was fifty years ago, we had a great life
Every morning rain or shine, he greeted me with a wild red rose, as the sun rose
But then it happens the day that I dread my beloved did not bring me a rose that day, for some time in the night he died
We had a nice ceremony, where I cried and cried
We buried him on a rainy day, I laid a wild rose from our special place on the grave
That was just yesterday, as I sat in our favorite loveseat
A knock do I hear, at the door standing there
My nephew James, with the bright blue eyes he reminded of my own sweet love when he was all so young
Then to my surprise, he gave me a single wild red rose
I promised my uncle that for so long as your spirit is bound to this earth, a wild red rose I shall each day deliver to you
My uncle, he told me to say, that his body may be gone, but his spirit will live on
He, is with you as I say this, he holds you, do feel his kiss
He told me to tell you, you’ll find him on your demise
Down at the end of the trail in the park that leads to the creek
Thereby the grove of old willow trees, just a short distance on the banks above the old slow creek
You’ll find my soul waiting for thee by the place
Where the wild red roses grow

Love a Never Ending Game

by: Guildford Windley

Love a Never Ending Game
_________________________
Tears of joy, tears of pain
Love is a never ending game
Take my hand, take my heart
Hold me tight, in the dark of night
Kiss my lips with all your passion
Take hold of me with all emotions
Your love is all I desire; my heart is so on fire
What is this game you play that tortures me this way
One minute you find the beauty that I bestow
I see the beauty of your soul, and then you turn away
Once you have had your way
Is it for that other one you crave; the one who holds sway over you?
Why if you want that person so, do you torture me so?
Why cause these tears of joy, and tears of pain
Please let me go if am not the one that will hold your love!
This life I live is complex in many ways
Your strength has been a way to keep me grounded
But your deception leaves me in dismay; I lose all focus and all purpose of the day
What is this game you play; you must choose your way
I will not live this way; my life, my soul must be my own
If that person is who you desire, please leave me now
So that my path will lead me to a place of peace
A place where my heart can heal, a place where my soul can be renewed with the energy to live
Love like this I may never find again, but the freedom from your dominations will give flight to me, so set me free so I can live again
No more tears of joy, no more tears of pain
Unchain my heart
Lift up my spirit
Take your other lover and leave me be!

The Definition of Madness

by: Guildford Windley

The Definition of Madness
_______________________________
What madness is this?
That we see today
What happens to the way it was?
Where did it go wrong?
Used to be the Republicans were the bastion of conservatism ready to fight the Russian
Now they are nothing more than Russian whores
Demands for billions for a wall, because it pleases a Nazi bitch, He can’t stand up to Women of power
Ann, call him a wimp and he, cave in
Then Nancy put him in his place, she said no, and no is what she meant
All the while the man he made a fool of, was on his knees kissing his master’s ass in Congress
It was pointed out as true as can be; the fool’s crocodile tears will not do, when workers cannot eat!
You see this wall they want to build, no justification has really been shown
He has not documented the tidal wave of the wild hordes comes across our southern border
The only way he justified billions is with fear and lies
He wants to build a wall through Mission Texas; this wall will cut right through the National Butterfly center, an American treasure it will cost lots of money
He will bulldoze and destroy the home of 200 types of butterfly
For what, a 30 foot high ugly concrete steel wall
Guess what the crime rate is in the Mission area it is 70 % lower than the nation
I think the only crime being commit, is the money lining some pockets of a politician
The people who make a living there will lose the tourist dollar
All this stupid to please an ego of a spoiled child
Meanwhile, people of color are being threatened beaten and murder
White men go on a killing spree all the Republicans will say, our thoughts and prayers and we need God and the second amendment
But if an undocumented does the dirty deed all hell is what we hear
Republicans turn their heads; collect their pay from the NRA
But if an undocumented does the dirty deed all hell is what we hear
What madness is this, what madness is this?
Healthcare, they want to take away so the cost will drop for the rich and powerful
What madness is this? Old and the young discarded so politicians can drain the safety net, no money left as the deficits soar they rich line their pockets
Vets left to die on the street homeless and sick, more will come, since our wars are never ending
Homelessness and poverty is climbing, but the rich don’t give damn, Wall Street high and might
What kind of crazy are we, a society that shove God down your throat no to LGBTQ, no abortion, keep women in their place
Yes they are all about life; once it’s born they like to watch it die
What kind of madness is this anyway?
Russia spends and turns elections, voter laws to reduce people’s rights, suppress and control us
The Supreme Court knows its place vote against the human race
Justice is blind, drink up for, the Constitution you don’t give damn your orders you receive after a white house brief Hell pour that beer, is all they care for
What is the truth, they don’t care, hell more beer
Your right to vote you can lose without a street address
Never mind the Constitution states your right cannot be denied or abridged
Constitution says nothing about a street address
But what the heck they claim the border is a mess
The hordes of people they claim when it’s to their point
Caravans of people, bad people, and sick people start coming
Trumps shouts wails, people demand the wall
Then when the smoke of his ramblings clears
The caravans disappear
We separate kids from their families; in tent cities do we keep them
Poor people come for a better life, turn away for the color of their skin
Russian women have no trouble coming here where children they deliver, are now citizens
The power is not with the people, the oligarchy controls the government
As the deficit source and no taxes are paid
The government is falling apart, but the rich get richer
They keep their power pulling the strings as puppet masters they feed us a line of deceit, they cover our face with the shroud of lies
So we fight and turn on each other, we do not see what is real
For blind our we, by the lies they sell
They keep us down, as fortunes do they make
All the while the fool sits on a golden throne, a wall of deceit
He fiddles his tune with tweets,
Rome burns as he eats hamburgers and watches Fox on TV!
What madness is this, lost in lies are we, what madness is this
As the clock ticks, our freedom slip away

The Enemy from Within

The Enemy from Within
________________________
The enemy from within
He smiles with a grin
He shouts slogans and promises
Like he’s pouring whiskey for a drunken man
Keeping feeding them the line
Create deception by divide
Find the weak link in the chain
Turn that into hate
While you are doing that
The Master pulls the strings
For your soul he owns
Bought and paid for with his beguile
He gave you what you crave
Money that you needed for your lifestyle
He played upon your vanity
He strokes your ego; all the while you by what he says
He put you on top, manipulation of the system
Money poured into organized corruption
Feed the system, using lies spread through the media
Distortions of the truth dug up dirt, to silence those who challenge you
What he could not do from without, he did from within
He took the right he now owns them
The future looks bleak as we sink
In gridlock, we are, while the world is lost
Freedom weakness is our own failings
For those who trade their rights for the hate, they sow inside
For those push to take other rights soon lose sight of their own rights
They give away the future for some gold, that is just glitter stone, no real wealth is theirs, for the wealth they were promised, lies in the rich man’s pockets
No freedom can be one if not shared by everyone!

Freedom, Dreams and Action

Freedom, Dreams and Action

In righteous joy
In righteous pain
Each step we take May, not be ahead
But in his name, we should persist
For freedoms gained can soon be a loss
There are those who seek a time when their rule was absolute
A, for white hetero male control, with only token rights for those who don’t fit that bill a Freedom is not a gift of man, but that which God intends yes, a land for all to share a place where equality is not a dream
Our rights and freedoms are not assured, but which are gained in righteous struggles, we speak-up so that our voices are heard, one voice can make the different
It takes that lone voice to bring the passion to show the way to action
To stand unafraid to all that opposed the voice of reason
To bring the hope of change to benefit all the people
We have had those who, have come among us, who gave their all, for justice
All struggles begin with injustice, and then voices raise and that they are heard
That first step we take to change the world, to make that world a better place
But ever so, we must take guard for when we are distracted that’s when freedoms and rights can be altered by those in power
Here we are at this point in time
The man-made wolf of the evil kind
Have control of the farm and are leading the lambs to the slaughter
Using all their power they will take away your rights and freedom, in exchange for token promises that will be broken
We have gained so much, from the giants that came before us
Let’s not fall asleep, for each step we take to climb that mountain will be fraught with peril
The climb upon the mountain trail is steep and at times seems insurmountable
But let’s keep our focus clear, and let not the other bring about despair, let’s not find divisions and distractions among us, for they will only destroy us
We have a long way to go, so much injustice
Black people shot in the street by our police
The native girls who disappear, the Forgotten Women
Women’s rights, minority equality, Sexual freedom
The rights of immigrants, both those who came legally or who came for human rights
Workers’ rights and religious freedom, and freedom for a non-believer
These struggles and others we must fight for even when we don’t agree, we need to fight so they are free
Stand up to tyranny, for the road we take has been traveled before by those who saw a better world for all
Now it’s our turn to spread the word
Spoken by heroes of the past
We can dream, but we need to act, for dreams will not come true, until we rise up and changes the rules!

A Word About Truth

A Word About Truth

Things go unseeing in the dark of night
In the darkness, there is no light to see what there is to be seen
But let the light shine in and a new world well you find
In the darkness, things do happen, and the people will not know
But let some light on it, then people will see the deeds that you sow
You can tell lies, and some people will buy what you say
But the hard part about the lie is keeping it that way
For what is a lie anyway, but a deception of the truth with that said it’s not hard to see people will see through what you do
it when the lie changes to meet a new need
A lie will always give way to the truth
No matter how hard you try, the truth will always come out
A spider web is meant to catch prey, but in the world of deceit the web that you weave will catch those that thought to deceive
In the end, the world will know of your plan, the game that you play will come to an end
The wealth gain at others expense, a bought traitor, a pawn of the enemy who works from within
Down you will fall no matter what you will do those that link themselves to you, will, in the end, turn on you
For you’ll no longer have value to them
Pray you, for a way out of your mess, your stooges may try to bury the truth, they may try to hide it away
But in the end, like the night when it fades away, there comes a brand new day, and with it, the people will learn of your sick evil way!
