The Joy of Life

The Joy of Life

by: Guildford Windley

The Joy of Life
Ah life is of such bittersweet moments
The joys of the ups, the sadness of the downs
We live a whirlwind life, but all too short
The feelings and emotions that brings great happiness and tragic sorrows
Ah but for such a life, it gives to us the breath to pause and rejoice
For being alive
The sweet air of the breath we take one must pause and give thanks
For in a blink of an eye that same breath of sweet air maybe the last
The whole point of living is to find your meaning
You are stardust that has come from a time long gone
In life God gave to you a special gift, it’s a clue
For the purpose of your time on earth
It a role we play written in the stars
God’s hand upon the scrip, of the life that is yours
Breathe the sweet air of life, and be grateful for the life you got
Rather rich or poor no matter who you are
Your life matters, there is a reason for existence
Hold high your head. In these uncertain times
Enjoy life, and find the happiness in the person that you’re
For the world was here before your time, and the world will be here when you’re gone
So smile for though these days that cause sadness
A new bright tomorrow is sure to follow
So live, love and cry but just a little for when we go
Memories are what we leave, as space dust we will soar among the stars
As our souls dance in the Heavens
