Grandma’s Hands
(Bill Withers Inspired)
Skin like
Creased paper,
Folded and flattened
Back out,
Gripped tight
My small,
Unworn hand.
I wondered how
Your hands got
So coarse.
And how they
Could make me
Feel so safe.
