WRITING AND AWARD

I know. You just cannot wait for your name to be boldly inscribed on an award. It may be a Pulitzer Award or something else you have been clamoring for for years now. I know how frustrating it can get when you feel all efforts put into the art to make it substantial is not yielding your definition of a fruit. Wait for it! The award may not be feasible at the moment but you only know who you are.

Let us talk about this today. This is Daily Wisdom Words Picture Poetry Prompt, a writing exercise meant for you. Do you want to be part of it?

  1. Writing Tree

I champion my home all alone
    until financial friendship
    champions me

    Then my fountain pen found
    Foundation &
    Its Money Tree

    To put aside my idea
    Deep inside my history

    Presses lay disinterested
    Wept of Ancient concept of
    “Beholden to no Entity”

  2. Writing began years ago
    penned only for an A
    short stories became poetry
    poetry burned as desire
    Written only for myself
    at first I was afraid
    to post these words
    that run thru my soul
    Taking a deep breath
    I sent them to soar
    to win over hearts
    not to receive awards

    • The last two lines of the poem is fascinating. Yes. It starts with a fret but we eventually get over it. Good job Debs.
      Awaiting your invitee😊

  3. Today, crunched into a form understandable by an outsider
edited, cleaned up, ramblings turned into art.
Today I am seen, today I am free
that is enough reward for me. -Ad
