Willie Willie

by: Shirley Satterfield

.Willie, Willie
such a paradox of a person.
He’s a real nice guy,
he drives a church van,
cooks dinner for the saints on Sunday
and shares pizza with a neighbor under a shade tree.
But have you met his shadow man?
Have you met the him that sins?
The him that no one sees?
If only he would cozy up to Jesus
and be baptized
God would set this shadow man Scott free.

God would forgive him.
I have forgiven him.
He would then forgive himself,
Dear God
Amen and amen.
