Winter days of life

Oh wintery days
Bring forth the cold, wet storms
Splash the rocky shore with high waves
Downpour the rain on the scorched earth
Of the land that was just burnt with hot wildfires of the dry fall months
Now renew the land regrow new trees
The rebirth of the fields and hills
Bring forth those storms full of wet cold snow, blanket the mountains in white
It is that time of year a hearty storm to bring forth new life in the coming year
The chills of a cold wind blowing from the north may be harsh upon the skin, but we will endure the winter for the winter is the source of life
Oh wintery days
Stay warm with my love; hold on to me as the cold comes from the north
Renew is the life I share with you
On darken, dreary days of the coming winter hold me close as a reminder of our past
Those things that were said that drove wedges between us are now washed away in the winter’s rain
Please forgive my weakness in a moment of rage like the cold frigid weather that had to change our love and turn it bitter
Now in the cleaning of this earth, let’s renew that love, for it is now stronger for it faces the test of the cold harsh winter
With the break from the northern storm
Comes the Sun with warm weather take my hand and walk with me upon fresh soil
New life arrives in the warmth of spring for us our love will blossom forth renewed once more; to ever endure the pains of last winter
