the past marvelled
remembering snowflakes
your name
surge of warmth
discovering quirks
untowards welcomes
fortnight ‘neath
a wintry moon
slanting lights
a cool hush of dusk
in earnest cherished
lovingly swooning
aglow over a
smokey red horizon.

Singing Our Colors
It was like you always knew
days would lose us
I’d read your words again
as they ran away
We painted songs light & dark
drawn to our own
pouring in our souls
colors no one else can see
I met a lonely woman
her eyes shared my smile
we’d laugh like no others
writing our road home
