A new love

I was devastate that night
The love I thought we had
The two hearts that beat as one
Seem none of that was in your plan
Your betrayal left me frail and broken
Down was I, for the loss of your love
I could not speak of the joy of love
There was no beauty in my life
No color could be seen
Life was just black and white
Down was I, a broken person
Lost in my own pain
Shackled to the past
But that has change, my dear
Your hold on me is broken
For in the dawn of my new life
A new love has given me new life
Those broken wing that you had given me
That took me down
She has healed with the nurturing of her healing love
My heart like wings have given flight
The beauty she has brought to me has my heart feeling light
Her love and gentle kiss, to me is pure bliss
The loss of your love I no longer miss
But my dear I hope with all my heart
That the love we had will in the end be a pleasant memory to share
But it was never meant to be like the love that just found me
I truly hope you find the kind of love that I have found
But now, with the wings of the love I found, I give flight to the one who will hold me close and tight throughout our loving life
For now the world unfolds to me no more is it black and white
For I see all the colors that can be; as my new love is like poetry
Written in a book somewhere with all the great loves that have been
Now add the two of us as if we were one until the end
So written is our love!
