A Thank You- To All the Heroes

Like the old weeping willow, all alone in the meadow
Alone are we, locked behind doors, with four walls and some windows
We’re weeping for all the lost souls
Lost in this pandemic
Fear grips us as we live in the shadows of this plague of a virus
Yet on the front lines brave fighter give it they’re all to save us
While dealing with the of the incompetent of bureaucrats
Who doesn’t seem to care at all?
Equipment needed to save them and patients’ lives
Equipment that’s in need that doesn’t seem to be where they should be
Yes, of course, there are those that don’t give a damn, selfish people who care more for the buck, then they care for humankind
But for most of us, we shelter in place, in our little world we go unnoticed to live in our own solace of a life
But inspire are we, and in spite of, our feeling bad for ourselves
When the clock strikes seven o’clock
We spring to the door; on the porch, we scream out loud-A big thanks
To all the brave souls in harm’s way, where ever that may be
Fighting an unseeing enemy with little more than some guts and a prayer
See you all at seven tonight so that we can give thanks!
