But what of the poor, they should do a lot more
But what of the poor all they do is ask for more
But what of the poor there are jobs for them, that others won’t do
Whose fault is it that they can’t stretch a buck?
The minimum wage of 7.25 is far too high
The cost of doing business is sky-high- because of these folks
who are poor
How can the rich pay for another vacation villa?
when the poor demand food and shelter for their families
But what of the poor, they just take more and more
Who gives a damn for the poor? on the rich pay the politicians who in turn favor the rich with what they desire
Yes, the poor suffer for lack of health care and other needs
Like food and clean water
But what of the poor
the government does too much
the taxes are too high, and the poor just want more
But what of the needs of the rich
The government subsidies that they get are barely more than the bribes they give
But what of the rich
Their demands are great they take more and do not give
For as poverty grows and the middle-class declines
As the wealth of the rich does grow more greed do, they show
More politicians in their pocket
As they desire so much more
But what of the poor, the government could careless
The government pockets are a line from the wealth of the rich
As the charade of dance goes on the rich pay the politicians who in turn favor the rich with what they desire
The politicians our blind to poor
So, what of the people as the people lose power
The rich and the powerful play to the prejudice of the people
They play to their fears and their own self-greed
But what of the poor- let them die on the street
If the stock market, rides high in the sky and the rich get more money
Who gives a damn for the poor?
