COERCION

What is coercion and how does it play a role in our everyday lives?  Let us first take a look at the meaning of coercion in our Webster dictionary: Coercion-1. the practice of persuading someone to do something by using force or threats.  2.  to pressure someone into taking a stand or revealing his beliefs or intentions;  to compel someone to act immediately and against his will. Daily Wisdom Word definition-1.  using persuasion and threats to make someone do something they would not do of their own free will. Coercion is often seen on drama shows such as soap operas where it is common for people to be blackmailing one another.  There are threats to someone by another person such as this:  if they don’t do what another character wishes them to do, then they will share a secret for example, that will destroy the person’s life. My son is an attorney and although it isn’t common, you do see coercion in our legal system.  Lets take the Steven Avery case for example;  the first one.  I have just finished watching the documentary on Steven Avery, and he was certainly subject to coercion when he was in jail.  He was very stubborn in insisting his innocence and because of that, they would not let him out on parole. He did not confess his guilt, and later was found innocent of raping a woman who he was accused of even when he had 22 witnesses supporting a timeline that would not make it possible for him to have done the crime.  You have to wonder in this second case, after he is out on bail and had won a large settlement against the county and the day after Theresa Halbok went missing, was notified of this.  the following day, they find her toyota Rav 4 across from the Avery property.  One has to wonder if coercion is not going on behind the scenes of this case after watching the documentary. Coercion is evil business, and I hope I never have to experience it over my lifetime. Thank you for reading about coercion today.  Have a beautiful and blessed day. Samantha LeBoeuf/DWW

My goodness Peter, what a horrible experience you had! Thankfully, you have learned how deal with your depression in a way that suits you. Sad that doctors who we are suppose to trust use our weakness and force us to do things we may be against. Perfect situation to explain coercion.
Again, sorry you had to go through that. Thank you for sharing and your open honesty. Know you are loved and have friends that truly care.
Love you♥️
