Confessions

CONFESSIONS What are confessions and how do they play a role in our life as well as our writings? First, let us take a look at the Webster Meaning of Confessions: 1. An act of confessing. 2. An acknowledgement of guilt   Daily Wisdom Word Meaning: Confessing to flaws we have or confessing embarrassing things that have happened to us we may have written on or discussed with others to help them with what they are going through.   Daily Wisdom Words is about honesty even if it is embarrassing to me. I wrote a poem yesterday about being bullied which was true. From the age of 10-14 years of age I was made fun of for being too tall, running like a horse, anything the other kids my age could find to pick on me about.   I started writing and that was my way of coping. By the time I was 14 years old, I was confident enough in myself to joke around with those same kids right back and had learned to like myself enough to stop associating with the kids that didn’t like me and stand up for who I was in person.   They say that a majority of what we write is truth mixed with fiction. I wrote a poem yesterday about bullying and it was based on truth. Bullying other children because they are different happens everyday. When I see this, I feel by sharing my story, it makes the other person feel like they are not alone in this world. I am “confessing”to something potentially embarrassing to me to help another.   Bullying happens every day and it is a subject many poets have written on. My poem is a confession about what happened to me.   Use your writing skills to help others. You have no idea who may read one of your poems or short stories and get something helpful out of it they can relate to. Use your writing to tell your truth, or someone else’s that is an ongoing issue in society.   Confessions not only help you, they help others and allow them to realize they are not alone with their problems.   I love comments and you can either comment on daily wisdom words on this site below or on twitter or Facebook. I also have a website, dailywisdomwords.com you may leave comments on.   We are all “imperfectly perfect” and confessing our flaws is nothing to be ashamed of especially if what you say or write can help others.   Samantha Leboeuf Community Leader realisticpoetry.com/thevoiceofpoets
