DUTY AND FAMILY

When i saw this picture on Facebook, i sank, immediately, into the idea of how soldiers balance duty and family especially when their attention is needed on both fronts. It is a very complicated one if you ask me.

Anyways, it will be rude of me not to say hello to you. Hello! How are you doing today? It has been raining down here in Gusau, Nigeria and everywhere is quite cold. Okay, let’s go straight into the matter of the day because i am pretty sure that if i continue, i may end up telling you a story.

  1. Duty of family
    To fight for loved ones
To bring up the next generation
    County, country and nation
Hoping to carry on the family line
    Hoping everything is fine
To say we are parents and this family is mine

    POEM BY KARL WOMACK

  2. Bombs drop
    Children cry
    Soldiers in
    A fire fight
    Don’t hate
    Us we are
    Here to
    Help
    We’re not
    The bad guys
    No don’t think
    That
    Here let’s me
    Get you somewhere
    Safe
    I’ll never forget
    You little one
