What is philanthropy and how does it play a role in our society? Let us first take a look at the meaning of philanthropy in our Webster Dictionary. Philanthropy-1. the desire to promote the welfare of others, expressed especially by the generous donation of money to good causes.
This website reminds me of Philanthropy. I have put much of my energy and time into this website and so have others. Peter donates two mornings every weekend to do “Peter’s Music Prompt”. That, my friends is philanthropy. Peter won’t take a dime for his time doing this every weekend, and he does such a wonderful job at it because he does it from his heart. That is what makes Peter my Best Male Friend. He has so much character and donates his time and energy to this website which is a form of philanthropy.
I look at my best friend. She is donating three mornings a week to do “Quelly’s Blog”. This blog just started, but she is doing it from her heart. In fact, she thanks me for letting her write on the website even though she so far has not had any responses which I believe is normal for a new blog. She is such an excellent writer she is bound to eventually have people respond. She is doing this out of the goodness of her heart.
We have a member that donates to our site regularly. He does this because he can see the beauty of Poetry and how a website like this promotes poetry and writing. He is an amazing writer himself, but that is not why he is doing it. He is doing this out of the goodness of his heart and it means the world to us. People don’t realize just how expensive it is to have a website like this, and it has been done out of the goodness of my heart, yet another example of philanthropy.
I know we will be a success because this whole website has been built on the philanthropy and goodwill of others in either their time or money. I am thankful to all who play a role in this and continue to in the present and will continue to in the future.
Philanthropy is an amazing thing and we should all give in some form or another to a cause we believe in. Thank you for reading about philanthropy today. Have a blessed and beautiful day.
