THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA BY ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER

With total estimated worldwide gross receipts of over $6 billion and total Broadway gross of over $1 billion, Phantom was the most financially successful entertainment event until The Lion King surpassed it in 2014. By 2011, it had been seen by over 130 million people in 145 cities across 27 countries.

Make that a plus one because I saw on Britain’s Got Talent. Truth be told, it was worth my every minute. The sound combination was just too marvelous for my ears. Before watching phantom of the opera, I had never heard voices of different nature coming together to make something as wonderful as what you’ll hear today on Daily Wisdom Words Music Poetry Prompt. What are you waiting for?

Why have you not entered our spring writing contest? If you enter now, you may be the winner of $250 and many awesome prizes. CLICK HERE to enter now with $5.

  1. Phantom and a Butterfly

Masks are worn by some who are “broken” to deal with thorns
delicate petals of soul, wilted by woes
some hearts grow cold, some grow “horns”
battling EGO, overthrowing “him”, because we all know EGO is the devil within
but alas a beautiful soul can warm the coldest of cold
unconditional love from one to another, warm even the coldest one who hungers for touch
some hunger for lust, others to be touched on a deeper level; the heart
to touch the heart, takes trust; to disarm
taking down walls built high around our heart to guard from harm
beautiful soul, taking steps to soften, a black heart angry and as sour as vinegar
who’s words bite is bitter as the inner flesh of a pecan
who’s faith in humanity is as cold as the winters in the North land
dark Princes and frosty Queens, hopeless chains, souls begging for freedom from pain
then one day, old man winter goes away
rain helps the flowers to flourish, hearts are warmed and nourished
summer has come, WE have freedom!

  2. Dance Ghost

    Silence is your phantom wind
    It blows within

Between the glows & dark rows
    Opera din

Out of the question this quest churns
    is never done

Others may only run to seek the sun
    Not this one

    Your silence gives our dance
    ghosts of a chance
    Keeps me near
