βDeceptionβ is
Indeed a slippery word,
Its definition depending
Upon its perception,
Meaning one thing
If itβs seen and
Quite another if
Itβs heard.
Your understanding eye
Believes it sees βto deceiveβ
But your ear does not lie
When it receives to βde-sieve.β
To βde-sieveβ is to blend
Together, to recombine the
Discrete bits of a broken
Whole and, in so doing, let
That which was shattered,
Dismantled and scattered,
Reunite and begin to mend.
So, after that rambling amble,
Perhaps βtis time to
Ask whether βdeceptionβ
Might not, as a word,
Be due a more positive
Reception?
Deception
