A Heartbreak by Angus and Julia Stone

Hey you, have you ever had your heart broken? Don’t answer that. It may surprise you but it is one cliche that sinks in deep to our very core. I’d like to narrate my own fair share in this venture called a heartbreak- i really want to- but i think it is best i adorn it with poetry and this beautiful song, a heartbreak, by Angus and Julia Stone.

This isΒ DAILY WISDOM WORDS MUSIC WRITING EXERCISE, a special sunday edition with your host,Β ABUH MONDAY ENEOJO. Participating is easy and quick. All you have to do is;

  • Listen to the song

  • Compose a poem inspired by song
  • Share with us.

Remember, it does not count if you do not invite someone to the writing exercise. Let’s do this! ✍🎢

  1. Bare Trees

    Girl you septembered me
    eyes dancing on mine
    I met your friends
    they told me everything.

    Summer’s glaze falling
    around us like bare trees
    you’re a heartbreak empath
    transparent in my mind.

    Winter’s rain took you
    crying for my help
we all wear a new story now
    what else can we say?

  2. Barefoot i walk into the sunrise
    life blends in the glare
    bleeding into words
    i can almost taste
    i have turned into
    an old edtion
    of savage romanticism
    drifting in moist ocean air
    penetrating mysteries
    heart breaking
    my mind is going places
yet I’m neither here nor there

  3. Who understands love
    Heartbreak
    The fear of the unknown
    Frightened and living alone
    Female friends I thought loved
Never called one my proper girlfriend
    Came close each time
But I end up with my heart broken

  4. Sounds of love
    stop simmering
    when i see your
    love breaking mine.

    What we once had,
    the bad breathe you
    ignored when we kissed
now is a stench to my soul.

    Maybe i will dare
    love maybe i will not.
    Its unbearable sting
    tinkles me mad.
