PREDICAMENTS

What are our predicaments and can we overcome them?  Let us first take a look at the meaning of predicaments in the Webster Dictionary. Predicaments-1.  a difficult, unpleasant or embarrassing situation  2.  Each of the term “categories”often listed as substance or being, quantity, quality, relation, place, time, posture, having or possession, action and passion. Daily Wisdom Word Meaning of Predicaments-1.  issues that we come across in life that are difficult, hard, and hard to solve. Predicaments can have a profound effect on our lives.  Predicaments are jams we get into, that we had no intention of pursuing.  Predicaments usually involve making decisions, and having a choice of which decisions we make, none of them being perfect.  We are stuck in a corner and don’t know how to get out of it. I think the most complex predicament I was in was when I worked as a Real Estate agent for new home builders, managing the construction of new homes and sales for them as well as instructing the superintendent exactly how to build the house. I was fairly new in my career, and accidentally wrote on the construction order for the superintendent to pour the foundation of the home with a partial basement instead of the full basement the homeowner’s had asked for.  The homeowner’s were livid to say the least and once you pour the concrete on the lot for the foundation it is almost impossible to change it.  I could not sleep and was  sure I would lose my job over it. Fortunately, my builder offered a $15,000 discount to the homeowners which they took begrudgingly, and it was not the perfect solution, but the homeowner’s decided to accept the compensation instead of switching lots to build their home on which was not an option for my builder anyway.  Predicaments can make us go crazy.  Predicaments are unfortunately a part of life, however and we cannot control what is around the next corner.  By the way, the builder decided to give me another chance, and did not fire me.  I was very fortunate.
