RESOLUTIONS

What are your resolutions this year?  Let us first take a look at  the meaning of resolutions. Resolutions-1.  a firm decision to do or not to do something Daily Wisdom Word Definition of resolutions-1.  The vow to make changes within one’s life that with change their life for the better. Every new year in January, I vow I will make changes.  I will even go as far as writing them down in affirmation style.  I am so determined to succeed with these changes, but as every day goes by in the year, I end up slipping from my well-intentioned plans.  What are your resolutions for the year?  Have you listed them on a piece of paper or in your computer like me?  Do you find, as each day goes by, you slip further and further from success? Resolutions are not easy.  It is not easy to make changes in our lives.  Sometimes, we get into a string of bad habits instead and this becomes our change.  How can we be successful with positive changes we wish to make in our lives?  First of all, we can have faith in ourselves and our ability to change.  Second, yes, it is important to write these changes down.  Third, we can come to the conclusion that for human beings, change doesn’t  happen overnight. Change is hard and difficult at times.  One thing that we can also do, is look for support systems.  We can find fellow support from our friends and family, and online support groups to accomplish some of the basic changes like losing weight.  We must believe it to achieve it and this is crucial for success.  This is what I was referring to when I said, “we must have faith in ourselves”.  If your like me, you may turn to a higher power for some of these changes, like alcoholism, drug addiction, and support groups.  I have made major changes in my life, but have also created bad habits in place of them. We all have a tendency to self sabotage, so have faith in YOU, and be conscious of your thoughts, because our thoughts are very powerful and they can either make or break us.
