RIDE LIKE THE WIND BY CHRISTOPHER CROSS

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=HNOn6enPC7U LYRICS
It is the night My body’s weak I’m on the run No time to sleep I’ve got to ride Ride like the wind To be free again
And I’ve got such a long way to go (such a long way to go) To make it to the border of Mexico So I’ll ride like the wind Ride like the wind
I was born the son of a lawless man Always spoke my mind with a gun in my hand Lived nine lives Gunned down ten Gonna ride like the wind
And I’ve got such a long way to go (such a long way to go) To make it to the border of Mexico So I’ll ride like the wind Ride like the wind
Gonna ride like the wind
Accused and tried and told to hang I was nowhere in sight when the church bells rang Never was the kind to do as I was told Gonna ride like the wind before I get old
It is the night My body’s weak I’m on the run No time to sleep I’ve got to ride Ride like the wind To be free again
And I’ve got such a long way to go (such a long way to go) To make it to the border of Mexico So I’ll ride like the wind Ride like the wind
And I’ve got a long way to go (such a long way to go) To make it to the border of Mexico So I’ll ride like the wind Ride like the wind Gonna ride like the wind
Ride!
Gonna ride like the wind
Ride!

Oh what a privilege to own
A music phone.
Let’s me ride the wind
To the border of ecstasy’s sin.
Set’s me free
to be Pleasure’s closest kin.

Oh what a pleasure it is
To own a music phone.

I share my own space
with twinkling glory
in plethora of grace
resplendent on my own pace
riding out this troublesome time
in placidity of mind..

To hold entwined
ambiguities of life
on gentle clouds
aligning my choices
to flicker in candle wishes
of feather bed stories.

I do not only read your poem cos I want to see the beauty you ink but the words you use. My vocabulary is growing. All thanks to you. Thanks for sharing this amazing poem.
I’ll spare you the trouble today. My favorite line is…riding out this troublesome time…

We fly through the night
riding words we know
winds around take us
no one knows we’re here.

Never been one to follow
night’s beckoning allure
restless like the ocean
searching for your shore.

Amused you stay with me
eyeing me in Moon’s light
drifting together
we follow our hearts.

Truth be told Robert…the first stanza caught my attention- I read it twice. I love your diction too. It was all nature. Thanks for sharing.

Very sweetly, romantically done.

Rev of engine on two wheels
Ride like the wind
Wind in your hair
Riding free
Riding wild
Hear the engine roar
A speed demon in the limits
Glimpse and fash of scenary
But I am free
Just look at me

That guitar solo is really hot
makes me realize the skills I’ve got
now to go do the things he reminded me to do.
I gotta go finish a new song or two.

I actually picked up the trumpet, ran some notes but then I discovered that i was disturbing my neighbors. I really have to get me a trumpet mute. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe.
