Picture Prompt- Human and Shadows

Have you ever seen a man or woman without a shadow? Some people will arguably tell you yes but is it naturally true for someone not to possess or own shadow?

I have been made to believe that one’s shadow has something to do with the supernatural. Hence, a man who’s shadowless is either soulless or dead.

There are many wonders of nature especially that which is related to man. The awesome science behind a man’s shadow is amazing. One thing that sweeps me off my feet is that it takes just a considerable amount of light and darkness to cast a shadow.

Join this awe. Let us ride on a chariot of imagination with our words as propellers. I am Abuh Monday Eneojo. Welcome to Daily Wisdom Words Picture Writing Exercise.

PICTURE POETRY: UNION OF ELEMENTS

We’ve all heard of the basic elements that we need to survive: water, fire, air, space, etc.

But what would happen if two or more of those elements had a union?

I was having these thoughts when I took today’s picture a few days ago. I then digitally added the sun and the moon in it to create a union.

What do elements mean to you?

What does union mean to you?

Look at the picture and let it inside your aura. Embrace it. Talk to it and then compose a poem with either of these two prompts: “Union” and “Elements.” Share it with below in the comments section.

SHORES AND ME

Shores and me

In my lowliest of times i find myself thinking of me in places i desire like shores, mountains, the great wall of China, Los Angeles, Seychelles etc. Before i get into the exercise today, i would love to tell you a story.

Today, i was compelled to go the bank to make some deposit- mother’s order. I never knew it was going to take more than two hours to actually get into the bank because of Covid which was and still is my fond reason for not going to the bank to do anything.

I won’t bore you with the whole stress on standing for five hours- i am not kidding. While i waited for my turn in front of the cashier, a dark thick Muslim whose facial expression reeked a great deal of frustration because the counting machine kept on with its habit of scattering the money it was supposed to count smoothly. I just could not but smile at what i saw, not her facial expression this time, but letters beneath my feet. it said:

Think outside of the box but stay within the circle.

Sublime, right? I just could not help but smile and think on it. At least it eased the stress of standing. The aforementioned quote is no loner. Do you see the connection with the words and the beautiful picture by Michelle Huggelmann and the words ‘Shores and me’?

WATER AND HUMAN

Water, out of the many things, is one irony many people still may not understand. Like humans it has its mood swing and moments of joy as is the case of the picture above. You don’t want to caught up in her not so good a mood, she’ll make you forget you cried.

See this: The way it should have been

I’d love us to talk about water and human. Undoubtedly, these entities have many things in common. Let’s talk about them. My name is Abuh Monday Eneojo. I will be your host today. Welcome to Daily Wisdom Words Picture Poetry Prompt.

Remember, $250 can fall into your hands if you enter our Spring Writing Contest with an entry fee of $5 and a poem. You should not procrastinate. CLICK HERE to enter the writing contest now.

The word is water and human. Do you think you can tell us how similar these entities are?

PICTURE AND SUN

Picture of the sun

It just occurred to me that Friday’s Picture Poetry Prompt was about the firmament: sun and moon. That’s not all. Monday’s Picture Poetry Prompt was also about this this same firmament. If you ask me, I will boldly say that this, is no coincidence. I say this because coincidence is not a word in my dictionary- I don’t believe in coincidence.

For most of you who read and follow the writing exercises on Daily Wisdom Words Picture Poetry and Music Prompt, you may have observed that I write what, when and how I feel. Have you noticed that? Well, that’s by the way.

Writers all over the globe possess various muse but something is rather too similar or should I say peculiar to writers: we cherish and admire nature. Do you have such a feel as a writer? It may not be nature for you. It may be something different.

Welcome to Daily Wisdom Words Picture Poetry Prompt. Here, we take a look at a picture- something beautiful and artistic enough for a write – and compose a poem inspired by the picture with words in title. It’s that simple.

How is it going to improve my writing skills? Listen to Robert’s testimony on YouTube.

Picture and sun. Those are the words. Can you compose a poem with it? Give it a try on Daily Wisdom Words. My name is Abuh Monday Eneojo. I will be your host. All thanks to Donna Marie for providing this picture.

WRITERS RETREAT

Writers Retreat by Lloyd Cole.

Settling the dispute between the art of writing and relationship with others may be quite unsettling most times. As writers, we are always faced with what to write and this singular state creates a huge space in how we relate to people dear to us. Just so you, the song I want to feature on Daily Wisdom Words is on repeat. I just have to leave it that way so I write what I am supposed to write.

If you are reading this I’d like you to know that there is utmost need to balance your art and love life as a writer. Ideas may come when your spouse needs you. They may knock on your door and leave your hands and mind lost to thoughts you cannot but want to write down. I know! The question, big question, is how do you write and love? Can you answer that question? Tell me, can you?

You can’t. Like Samantha LeBeouf would gladly say to me. “Prioritize. What should come first? God. Then family…” and whatever you feel is necessary and valuable enough to fill the third position as a writer. Do you know the answer to the question now? I know you do.

My name is Abuh Monday Eneojo. This is Daily Wisdom Words Music Prompt and I will be your host.

HAVE A TALK WITH GOD BY STEVIE WONDER

Picture of Steve Wonder

Someone very dear to us stumbled on this song “Have a talk with God” by Stevie Wonder whose life is really a wonder to all. You should read his interview. My first encounter with him was in the All Star’s We are the World composed by Lionel Richie and Michael Jackson in the 80s.

“Have a talk with God”  It may sound awfully undoable to many. How do you talk to a supernatural being you do not see? I’ll love to answer that question. Maybe in another article that will be co-authored by Shirley Satterfield.

Good News!

We have a new member on Daily Wisdom Words. Her name is Donna Marie and she, like Reenie, paints beautifully. Truly, God gifted everyone of us with amazing arts. As a way of getting to know her better, I asked for a short bio and I got this:

Donna Marie has been a poet since age 13. She writes about the emotions of people who have been changed by trauma and then overcome. She’s writing a book about life experience. Here greatest talents are in doing artwork. In 2017 she was given the new title of professional artist. Her greatest gift is the ability to communicate with expression. Thank you Monday ~ I hope this is okay?

Yes. It helps. A big warm welcome to you even though we have to plow through the storm…

“Have a talk with God” True. We all need to talk to God. Engage Him in a conversation so we know why the world is changing by the day. At this juncture, I’d like you to welcome you to Daily Wisdom Words Music Prompt.

For most writers who really know the force every thought brings, thoughts that make us run to our various place of solace to pen these thoughts, we would agree that such thoughts need a place of calm.

MORNING AND SMILE

Mother nature has no face but yet it smiles all the time but we fail to see her gorgeous smile because we are too busy.

SIMPLE GESTURES

No need to worry, I have gracefully seen one of her many smile in the picture that you see above. Is it not beautiful?

Okay. One question for you, how often do you capture her smile? Let’s talk about nature and how she smiles in the rain, sun, soot, snow, political fumes and other not so favorable condition we have placed her.

READ REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD SMILE OFTEN

‘Morning’ and ‘Smile’ reminds me of a Christain hymal.

New every morning is thy love…

You can sing along if you know the hymnal very well. Joy comes in the morning. Smile!

A Now Poetic Voice of the Covid 19 Age

It comes to you because they have a vast array of beautiful variety of trees most of which we don’t know yet. I have not been to the Amazon forest to see these amazing trees for myself and this alone is something I wish will happen one day.

It just must happen. Well, while I nurse my dreams of visiting the Amazon forest some day, a budding painter has made her tree and decided to share it with us all.

FOG AND SCULPTURE

Have you heard of a fog sculpture? I guess your answer is no. Let’s talk about it on DWW PICTURE POETRY.

So, I was reading a book by Dan Brown and I can’t across the term in chapter one of ‘The Origin’. Bemused at a term I knew nothing about and sought help from an online encyclopedia that you all know and I was shock at my discovery.

Based on research, a certain Fujiko Nakaya is credited for making fog sculptures. She makes them graciously by using technology, architecture and nature.

Let’s talk about fog sculptures today.

GREEN AND POWDER

This picture has been on my phone for close to two months. Each time I turn my attention to it, it gives me reminds me of the ‘nature will survive’ philosophy I have forced my self to believe over the years.

Trust me, with all the events in the world one would be very quick to assume that nature is doomed for damnation but there’s hope.

That hope is you and I. As lovers of nature, we are expected to save it from the glaring death grip of industrialization.

Can you spare nature ten minutes of your time on DWW PICTURE POETRY?

Well, we are still talking Seychelles. Take a look at this beautiful sight. At first i was like was “what! this is so damn beautiful…just take a look at the art in the color of the sky and the sea complementing one another”. That alone is sublime and filled with beautiful craze. I’m going to leave you to it. But before i do, Reenie can you paint this?
