The Cold Stone Heart

The wind blows in from the north
The warm heat from the sun is gone
My heart is turning cold just like a stone
Now that you are gone
Like the wind that came, you flew away
You left me all alone
Lost was the love we once had
Those days in the warmth of the sun
We ran in the fields of wildflowers
I thought our world would never change
But then the cold north wind blew in
Our love grew cold in the dark night air
Then you left as if what we had never was like you just didn’t care
An illusion I held in my heart was the love I thought we had
Now the truth be known
You never cared
You used my heart, just for your pleasure
Now you’re gone with the northern wind
As for the suns warm heat, it is no more as the cold air moves in
For without you, my love, the sun does not shine, I’m left in the blackness
In the cold darkness that you left me
My cold stone heart resides.
