“Trolls are slow in the uptake, and mighty suspicious about anything new to them.”
If you’ve been on any kind of social media platform for some time now, you’ve probably had your fair share of trolls. I know I have.
Who exactly are trolls? Basically, they’re haters who express their opinion not to be heard but to deliberately start a fire.
And when that happens, the natural instinct is to fire back. Arguably, that’s a mistake.
We’re all tempted to defend ourselves and rightfully so. I too have partaken in some pretty nasty verbal brawls when encountering backlash.
What we must remember, however, is that we can never win those confrontations because trolls don’t care how you respond as long as they get a rise out of you.
After that, you can state your case till the cows come home but they don’t care. They succeeded in getting your attention.
That’s why I feel that it’s best just to ignore them. Admittedly, it’s not easy. We’re all human afterall and we all have feelings and emotions.
But in the long run, ignoring is the best option because it’s the easiest way to silence them. If they see that that no matter what they say, you won’t feed them, they’ll eventually die of starvation so to speak.
Do you have to deal with trolls? If so, what’s your method? Join this discussion by giving your two cents in the comments.
