Words

WORDS The way and order we use our Words can be one of the most important roles in life communicating with others and one of the most important things we use to write a poem or creatively write.   Let us take a look at the meaning of words according to the Webster Dictionary: 1. Something that is said. A brief remark. 2. Signal or communication of a specific type (Partial)   Daily Wisdom Word Meaning: 1. A combination of words we use to communicate our message. 2. Words we use in a specific order to communicate a message to others, either on paper, or verbally.   Why are Words so important? Other than non-verbal communication, words are what we have when conversing to deliver a message. The type of word, (adjectives, verbs, adverbs, nouns) can, with one adjustment, communicate an entirely different message that we first intended to communicate to another. The type of word we pick to use when writing, can also do the same with our reader. One shift, of the kind of word, or choice of one, can change our message entirely.   You may have heard the saying, “actions are far more important than words.” Believe me, they are no matter what type of communication we are using. One choice of a string of words can hurt someone’s feelings, or cause our message to be misconstrued, not even meaning what we originally set out for our message to be.   I used to say that our actions were more important than the words we use to write, or the words we use to communicate. The more I write, where words are the only way we carry our message across, makes me doubt that original saying and revise it to this: When writing, our words are more important than our actions. When speaking to another, both are equally as important.   Words are fascinating. They, by merely nudging one over for the substitute of another, can have their meaning and message changed, just like that. When we are writing, we should let our words flow from us naturally, but it is always a good idea to go back over what we have written, once finished writing that poem we are writing, or short story, proof read for a reason: To make sure the message we meant to give is the message we put out there. One thing about words, is after they are published or said, we can’t ever take them back, making proof reading all the more important.   Thoughts and Words are things and we need to be careful with our message to choose the proper adjective or noun to get the “right message” across has been used.   We are all “imperfectly perfect” and our words are just more proof of that, especially in writing but regardless of what our message is, it is abstract with poetry, which makes it all the more beautiful.   Thank you as always for reading and comments either on twitter, facebook, google plus, and realisticpoetry.com, are greatly appreciated, as I love your perspective on what you read here today.   Samantha Leboeuf Community Leader
