A Thousand Years

Is a connection of two people possible beyond the basic emotions for them of love, respect and compassion?

Singer Sting tries to portray that in his song “A Thousand Years.”

The song was originally released in 1999 as part of Sting’s album Brand New Day. While not an immediate chartbuster, its popularity grew over several years and is now a regular at live performances.

According to Sting himself, he was trying to write that a song that is “an attempt to express the idea that love can exist outside the dimension of time.”

What do you think love is? Is it real but just practically. Or is there some divine soul connection that we can’t explain in words? Do you resonate with the lyrics at all?

Write down your thoughts by composing your own poem about it! I look forward to reading it and responding to it!
