Two Cheese Enchiladas

I wrote this as a parody/satire poem to the tune of Garth Brooks song called “Two Piña Coladas” Two Cheese Enchiladas It was almost mid-day When I heard someone say Hey, you wanna go get some food But I had to work ‘Cause my boss was a jerk And it put me in an … Read more

Beyond The Trapdoor

by: Ivor Steven

Beyond The Trapdoor

I’ve been there so often

I’ve lost my fear, gone, forgotten

The darkest abyss

Under a cobble-stoned crest

Opening into a gloomy manhole

Trapdoor to the soul

Below the floor

My elbows do score

Over dried out soil

Beneath sticky cobweb curtains

Fingernails claw my way

Toes pushing against crumbled clay

No space, dusty tears

No air, dirt I chew

Shouldering under bearers

Squeezing, I burst through

I’m here, there’s a job to do

I begin searching for you

procrastinating to dream

by: Fitz Chiv

One more yawn… The day can wait!
Just a stretch… The tasks will fade
would sitting up do? Ceiling glaring makes dreams look true!
One more book! One more show! No need to look… My fame won’t go!
Why move fingers to write a drum? Wait… maybe another snare will come?
Why live for you? Laying here was easier for death too…

My Pain

by: Sheikh Shadi Marjan In the tears of the flute I’ve lost far beyond The tune of that flute reflects the tune of my cry She’s crying and crying, but why? Why’s she crying so much? What’s her suffering? Who’s hit her, who’s left her? Doesn’t she know? My pain is much more than hers!

Infatuation vs Love

by: Forever Rose In the beginning, infatuation can be such a beautiful ride, It makes you feel giddy with butterflies inside.
