IMPOSTER

What is an imposter?  Let us take a look at the meaning of imposter in our Webster Dictionary.                                                                 1.  A person who pretends to be someone else in order to deceive others, especially for fraudulent gain.

Daily Wisdom Word Meaning of Impostors-1.  A person who sets out to use trickery in order to fool someone in order to gain financially.

Imposters are not on every street corner but they are on many street corners.  I am sure you have driven by some of the people who hold signs on the corners stating they need money for food.  Some of these people are legitimate, and have good reason to be holding a sign up because they really are in need of a hot meal, but some do this daily in order to gain financial assets and are known as panhandlers.

Imposters are also people like Jim Jones from Jonestown and the People’s Temple.  What happened to over nine hundred people was a complete massacre and was led by an imposter named Jim Jones.  He guided the murders of over 900 people visiting this village where everyone donated their life savings to him and he had close to everyone commit suicide.  Sadly, he was a reverend, but one with ulterior motives:  an imposter.  He had everyone mix vats of cyanide in Kool-Aid form.  He had infants injected with the poison from their mother’s and managed to kill everyone in that village through his guidance with a microphone.  He was a true imposter who really was a Reverend, but turned into someone who took not only these folks money, but eventually their lives.

Imposters is not necessarily a positive, motivating daily wisdom word, and you don’t have to be a Jim Jones to be one.  We do need to be aware that there are many individuals out there that put on facades for ulterior motives.

Thank you for reading about imposters with me today.  Have a beautiful and blessed day.
