How are you doing today? I know 2020 may have been rough and tough. We all had our own fair share of it’s excesses.
I may be tempted to bring one or two things from @slleboeuf previous post, Rippling, but I will not- atleast not yet.
If you take a good look at the picture above, the man is searching from a distance, a star. My question is why wait for a star to make a wish when you can create one?

Pretend it’s my birthday
Whatever I want you to do
Take that trip into night
Tonight
Pretend happy birthday
it is
Then no nonsense right now
Everything is fine
You are home dark of night
Even better have fun with it
Show off a little

I used to wish on stars
When I was young
And believed in wishing.
I’d squeeze my eyelids tight
And think hard,
Focused on my desire.
The first star held the most magic
Though all stars were magical
Before I knew what they were.
I think I still need to state that this poem carries the story of everyone who went through the wish syndrome.
Job well done my friend.👏
I lay on the beach
Staring at the sky
It looks like a million
Fire flies dancing
In the night
Suddenly a shooting
Star flies by
I look inside
Myself and think
What would be a wish
I’d like to see
Come into reality
Ahhh- I wish I was
A talented poet
Where beautiful
Words flowed
With ease
Please wish
Be true to me 💫

A separate reality we ask
uncertainty’s questions
a timeless wish to share
our light under your stars.
We burn just as bright
eyes aglow in love
bridging wilder shores

So we look to our hearts
such passion compels

Still looking for an alias for you my friend cos of the way you use certain figure of speech…
Anyways, the rhyme in your poem reminded me of something.
It’s about rap. So i know that rap is an acronym that means rhythm and poetry.
The argument is “can there be rap without rhymes?”
Yes; but the rhythm is the poem’s foundation…
My thought exactly! But most people still believe that rap can be sung without rhyme.
Really?! REALLY?! This is my wish to write like this 👏👏👏👏💫🌻💛

A MOTHER’S WISH
I wish wishes
were not subject
to stars we see.
That way, I wish
me a wave on
your curvy island.
I wish wishes
last not for seconds
but for eternity.
That way, I spend
every night on you as
we become watchmen.
Above all, I wish you:
good health, peace
and a pain-free life.

Shining back at the stars
Who shine down on me.
I perform alone for God
I love the concept here. Don’t know if that’s what you intended to portray.
I feel the sense of gratitude and thanksgiving in the poem.
The light of love within, cancels out the stars of sin.
A really lovely thought here.
