ENCHANTMENT

What does enchantment mean and how does it play a role in our lives?  Let us first take a look at the meaning of enchantment in our Webster Dictionary. Enchantment-1.  A feeling of great pleasure;  delight  2.  The state of being under a spell;  magic The feeling of enchantment comes along with being mesmerized by another human being.  I can say I have experienced enchantment in my lifetime. Someone I dated, for quite some time, I was completely enchanted with.  I truly did feel like he had cast a spell on me.  I had such admiration for him.  The fact that he was so educated, impressed me considering I had not finished my Bachelor’s degree.  He was a Physiatrist so he had 17 years of school for his specialty.  He appeared to have his act together, and he was very familiar with how to court someone, so yes, I was enchanted. Human beings are full of flaws and it turned out with him, his biggest flaw was lying and womanizing and he really hurt me.  However, I blame myself, because when we place humans on a pedestal, we are bound to get disappointed because human beings are full of flaws. Enchantment is a wonderful feeling, almost like your floating on air.  There is nothing like it, as it feels like a natural high, because endorphins are released when we are infatuated or enchanted with someone.  This truly is a natural high, but remember, every part of life is a balancing act, and its best to stay as level as possible with your expectations of another human being. We will always end up disappointing ourselves, because the other person is a human being just like us, and he is bound to eventually disappoint.
