GENERATIONS – Daily Wisdom Words

In this article, I will be talking about generations, particularly today’s generation: Generation Z. Generation Z is completely different than Generation X. Prior to generation Y, was generation X. These were babies born between 1959-1964. This generation at its growth spurt was almost seventeen percent of the population. Generation Z is close to 33 percent. That is a huge growth spurt. Before going any further, let’s take a look at the definition of generations. Webster Dictionary meaning of generations-1. All of the people born and living at about the same time, regarded collectively. 2. The average period, generally considered to be thirty years, during which children are born and grow up, become adults, and begin to have children of their own. Daily Wisdom Words Definition-A set of individuals by age adding to our overall population from birth to death. Today’s generation, now approximately in their teens are completely different than generation X, Y or the baby-boomer generation. Generation Y is the demographic cohort following the baby boomers and preceding Generation X. This generation follows the generation of baby boomers. Prior to these, we had a demographic generation known as the silent generation. Generation X are babies who were born between 1965-1976. Next, is generation Y. This generation followed generation Y, and account for children born between 1980-1994. Then, there is today’s generation, Generation Z. These are the population born in the late 1990s to 2012. This generation is familiar with all types of technology especially computers because they grew up on them. generation Z was actually named “generation Z” because Time Magazine did a survey before it was named and came up with this, as it was the most common suggestion. Generations are also thought of from a family’s perspective, as there are generations in this case based on relationships. For example, there is a great grandmother, the grandmother, the mother a daughter. When a daughter, like mine who had her first child a year and a half ago, had a child, I went from just being a mother to being a mother and grandmother. Generations grow, and what they call the next generation will need to be announced soon, as we are now in 2020. Treasure the generations in your family.
