EisenhowerI’ve always believed that one of the key ingredients to being happier in life is appreciating the journey of an endeavor as much as the destination. It makes us more grateful for what we have accomplished so far and also keeps us on our toes to remind us how nothing is easy. Say you want to buy a new car. Now if you’re one of those people that is financially sound enough to buy a car on a whim, more power to you. But for most of us, we have to plan it. We have to set a budget. We have set up a payment plan. In many cases, we even have to wait a while before going through with it. When you go through that step-by-step process, the satisfaction you get when you’re finally driving the car is much greater. Simultaneously, it will also prepare you for future, like-minded endeavors. When you can appreciate the journey along the way, even of the bad occurrences in life, you’ll be more proud and much more dignified about everything you’ve achieved.
