KISMET

What is kismet? Let us take a look at its meaning in our Webster Dictionary. Kismet-1.  Fate or Destiny Daily Wisdom Word Definition or kismet-1.  Some things in our lives are simply meant to be and kismet is one of these things. Kismet happens more often then we believe.  Some people sadly, don’t believe in fate or destiny or kismet at all, but I firmly believe it exists as I have seen it in action in my own life.  Back 31 years ago, I married a man who told me he could not have children.  He was older than me, and he said him and his first wife had tried to have children their entire marriage, and hadn’t had any success.  He said he had also been to the doctor for tests, and was told that his sperm cell count was low, and it would be nearly impossible for them to have children. In order to believe in kismet, I think you have to believe that things happen in this life outside of your control.  I was so young then, that I could  imagine a life without children but as I have gotten older, I never would have married him if I had just listened to his story, simply because I now know I wouldn’t trade being a mother for anything in the world.  However, We did go ahead  and get married, and to make a long story short, within 3 weeks of marriage, I was pregnant!  We were elated and when it came time to want a second child, I was pregnant just three weeks after trying. Talk about Kismet?  The fact I ever met him to begin with was amazing as we did not travel in the same circles.  I believe some things in this life are just meant to be, and nothing you or I can do will change this.  If you look back on your life at your memories and things you treasure, I am sure you will find one example or two of kismet.  This daily wisdom word is a special one so I am sure we will see some good poetry out of it.  Kismet is a one in a million word.
