MASKS & COSTUMES

“Your self-worth is determined by you. You don’t have to depend on someone telling you who are.”
-Beyonce

Happy Halloween, everyone! Today is the day to dress up and wear costumes and enjoy putting on a new identity.

Just make sure it’s ONLY for today.

If you have to put on an inner costume the rest of the 364 days of the year to be accepted amongst others, it’s not worth it.

I always felt like God and/or the universe put out a holiday like Halloween specifically to let us indulge in taking on a new persona.

(On a side note, if you’re interested in reading the full story of Halloween and all its traditions, please take some time to read a thorough article on it at dailywisdomwords.com/halloween).

This is the one time of the year where we can not only have a different identity but also have fun with it whether it’s via trick-or-treating or at a costume party.

But November 1st should always be a reminder to get back to being yourself. We are who we are for a reason. No matter what attributes we share with others, the quantity and combination of our talents and abilities are unique to us. And we should bask in that independence instead of shunning it or hiding it.

How important is being yourself to you? Have you ever found yourself masking your personality to impress others? Share your thoughts and experiences by commenting below.
